Paul George is leading the NBA in defensive win shares...
Three Pacers in the top 8, for that matter...

I know this doesnt matter, but I still dont like Donnie being back. I miss Bird. Don't ask for reasoning because Im just going to say "I dunno, because"
If games are won and lost on a calculator and piece of paper, then why do we bother to play them?

Yes, I'm going to say it again. Thanks Larry Legend.

We're changing the identity of our basketball team -- dramatically. We're a power post team -- a blood-and-guts, old-school, smash-mouth team that plays with size, strength, speed and athleticism. We attack the basket. . . . This is the new identity of our team. It was a great effort. I'm very proud of our guys."

@WallaceNBA_ESPN: My guy @MikeWellsNBA can save NBA office time. Go ahead and write release on Paul George being East player of week.

Thought this game really turned when things started getting chippy in the 3rd. The Knicks fell apart while the Pacers seemed fueled by it.
Playing at home has a lot to do with it. The fans really help teams feed off the physicality of a game.

That is outstanding. I was wondering tonight after the game what old Obie thinks when he sees how well Paul has been playing.

To be honest though, that rookie season really taught him a lot but I think Frank and Then Brian Shaw are the ones that really deserve the credit. His defense wasn't this consistently good last year.

About as mad as I was when we took BRush over Ibaka

Also BRush cost us Kawahi Leonard. Cause we could have drafted Ghill and never had to give up our pick for him. But that would have been a stretch I guess. Not too mention butterfly effect and all.

Thank you JR Smith for helping the Pacers win! Your 10 of 29 shooting was greatly appreciated!
I'm sorry, but Paul George should be getting credit for that, not JR Smith. Paul suffocated JR, putting him in positions where he had to shoot because the clock was running down.

That was a defensive clinic from Paul George, from closeouts to passing lanes to one on one. That was DPOY worthy.

Jimmy did what Jimmy did, but Frank is essentially running the same defense Jim did. Frank was Jim's protege after all, there are a lot of similarities, he is just so much better at encouraging the players, and of course the big emphasis on demanding tough play.

Paul George should grow an afro. His frame and game are perfect for the throwback.

So, think Larry Bird is motivated to get back? I wish there was some way to convince brian shaw to stay around as an assistant. Seems to have a mega influence on Paul George and George Hill.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.
