    Default Pacers/Knicks Postgame Thread 1/10/13

One of the best rivalries in sports is being renewed as both teams return to championship contention!

The future is so bright as PG24 leads us to back to contention.

IIRC someone within the Pacers organization said that Lance and Paul were the two most talented Pacers. I wasn't sure about that. I am now.

    Defense and rebounding wins championships.

Man, this team is truly legit.

If we can continue to stay committed to defense, we will be a handful for all teams.

We just break the will of the teams we play.

    We get Granger back?

    Legit.

And when we got away from rebounding for a few minutes, the 8-point lead quickly was turned into a deficit. I hope we put that experience into our memory banks for future reference.

This team is legit. Even when we don't score, our defense carries us.

To be fair, I think Smith is a p-r-I-c-k, but I don't think he's a loser. Nearly every shot he hit was a togh, contested shot.

OK, but there were 19 other shots he missed. Thank you JR.

Thank you JR Smith for helping the Pacers win! Your 10 of 29 shooting was greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry, but Paul George should be getting credit for that, not JR Smith. Paul suffocated JR, putting him in positions where he had to shoot because the clock was running down.

That was a defensive clinic from Paul George, from closeouts to passing lanes to one on one. That was DPOY worthy.

Both high-octane offenses, both held under 80.

Seriously. We were missing our starting SF, plus our starting C was hurt in the game and our starting PG was hurt. The Knicks have no excuses.

@BillSimmons: Really important game for Paul George just now. He'd already turned into a signature star but doing it on national TV cements it.

if you don't think it's worth nothing Melo was out while we held them to a season low I don't know what to tell you. he's not Kurt Thomas.
