Default Greg Oden planning a return

Anybody think Indiana should take a chance?
"Missouri's former basketball coach Norm Stewart would traditionally have his players stay in Kansas City, Missouri, before playing at Kansas, going so far as to require the team bus to buy its gasoline at a Missouri filling station and reprimanding players who ate in Kansas, as he did not want to put any money into Kansas' economy."- MIZ-ZOU

He probably doesn't want a minimum $$ deal, and that's all I'd offer.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

The hell is that supposed to mean? I hope you aren't referring to Oden.

Before we picked Ian up I would say sure try it and see what happens. Hell depending on the contract he wanted, it might be @ least equally beneficial to have him instead of Plums.

Non-guaranteed contract? Sure. Guaranteed? Better be minimum. Otherwise, no thanks.

I keep hearing about his "return", but doubt it ever happens. I've gotten excited in the past. Now I just refuse to believe it. Hence "Boy who cried wolf"

There is taking a flyer on someone who is injury prone, and there is signing someone who will almost certainly end up being wheeled off the court on a gurney. No thanks, Greg should find another career for his own good.

Ahh got ya. I thought you meant Oden was crying wolf when he "retired" or whatever you wanna call it. Thought that was kinda harsh haha but we're on the same page now.

    minimum - non-guarantee - sure, sign him!
I'd rather role the dice with him then signing a Benny-Hans, Young, Mcguire type player that serve little good! Wait...we do need a practice squad...hmm! Guess he could be cut if not performing!

For a minimum roster amount, absolutely.

Do I have high hopes for this? No. But if it does work out, he could be a nice addition.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

If he wants to come to Indy for a minimum, non-guaranteed contract, then I think he would make a great addition.

Well, you can't sign non-guaranteed contract's for this season. And from the article I read about Miami's interest, they may be willing to sign him for 2 years, guaranteed, at the minimum salary.

And IMO, Miami's the best spot for him.

I'm sure he's planning a return. I bet he fits in great here.

You do know...he's from Indianapolis and we have numerous job openings at Walmart on 86th Street.
