    Default When Granger comes back.....

We could be the best team in the East when Granger comes back because of the way we are playing right now and Granger will get 10+ points a night and provide solid defense on Lebron and other top SFs.

I'm just trying to stay grounded right now because I never expected us to be 7 games over .500 at this point with Danny out and especially with Hill missing a few games.

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

I like what I saw with George on LeBron. I think it should stay that way until it stops working for us.

You know, with the development of PG and Lance, the Pacers always have the option of going small to match up with teams like the Heat as well. Last season in the playoffs, the Heat really gave the Pacers fits with their quickness, exploiting Hibbert in the PnR and spreading them out on defense with Battier on West.

A GHill/Lance/PG/Danny/Ian could really do some damage in spurts.

Danny coming back really opens up a lot of options with the lineup.

It's going to be interesting to see how George reverts back into the shooting guard role and who's going to be the focal point of the offense

I don't think it'll be a problem, we'll go with whoever is hot. That's what we do this year. When PG is on, we go to him. When it's Hibbert or West we feed it to em as much as we can, etc. Even now, I don't think you can say George is the focal point of our offense, just that he gets it going more often than others.

I know it was mentioned in another thread, but I would LOVE to see Danny coming off the bench, at least to start with....Name ANYONE from any other team coming off the bench that could match up with him....Oh man oh man would that be SICK....You think that our bench extended our lead last night, you could ease Danny back into the rotation all the while giving our bench a certain upgrade over any other teams bench....

Who'd have thought that Granger getting injured was a blessing in disguise?

With Granger out...it meant that PG was forced to step up and Vogel is forced to give Lance the necessary minutes to show him what he can do.

Agree. While it is nice to have multiple offensive options, sometimes it can complicate things a bit with everyone wanting to get their share. Please don't read that as selfishness on the part of the players. I don't mean it that way. It is just that it would seem (to me) to be difficult for players to put the brakes on what they are used to doing now, production wise.

That leads me to the quote below.

I also like this idea. It might be an easier way for him to work himself back into game-shape, and get back in the flow of things. Hey, if Amar'e can do it that way, why not Granger?

But, I also wonder if Granger will actually return this year. We can all hope that his recovery is successful, and on schedule, but we all know that getting in shape and getting into NBA basketball shape are two different things. How long will it take? Anyone's guess is as good or better than mine.

If the thread claiming Granger will be in a different uniform next season holds any merit, the Pacers are going to want to get him back and build his stock back up ASAP....Hopefully that prediction is wrong, as I can't picture Danny as anything but a Pacer....

First time poster here. I am a life long pacers fan, born and raised in Evansville. Granger is very overrated. Should cut granger and Hibbert and sign Solomon Alabi to a six year 25m contract. (He's a diamond in the rough, a Russell Wilson of the NBA).

Actually, I did. I wanted the Pacers to trade Granger in the offseason, and when he went down I expected a similar winning percentage to what the Pacers currently have, albeit by different means (didn't expect the bench to struggle or Hibbert to shoot 40%).

I always felt Granger was overrated as he's not and never was a "superstar" player, despite perception here. Also, he was on a steady decline across the board the past few seasons. But with all that said, I'm excited about him rejoining the team, and I can definitely see him and PG excelling together. The only way it doesn't make the team significantly better is if Granger plays the way he did the first half of last year (shooting Hibbert percentages).

Oh, great, the "superstar" player argument again.

I've never talked to anyone that says Danny is a superstar. He's just a top 5-8 SF in this league.

I don't know why everyone is hot to send him out when there's no reason to think Granger won't be all about sharing the offensive load. In fact, Danny has ALWAYS come off as a team guy/greater good/winning as opposed to individual accolades.

This is what I'm most excited for. Our lineups with Danny playing the 4 worked REALLY well last year from what I remember (correct me if I'm wrong, haven't looked at numbers).

I can't wait to see Danny and Paul together.

Isn't it great to have these problems? Such a change of pace for us Pacer fans!

i think it depends on the night. sure PG was great on LeBron, but Wade torched us the first half. Second half we saw more PG on Wade and it was a night and day difference. I look forward to PG being able to guard whose hot without being stuck with a huge mismatch on LeBron

Hey what's up guys? New Orleans hornets fan here and trying to get a feel on this trade. Me and a couple guys are debating on whether the pacers would do this trade. Granger for Gordon. Based upon Gordon and granger staying healthy for rest of season with no set backs. Gordon manning the sg spot with George playing the 3 seems like a dream come true for u guys if u ask me. Input from u guys is much appreciated and i got love for the pacers n colts. All my family is there in nap town and i was born in Marion county in st Francis hospital!!! Moved to n.o when I was just a baby so this is my home but got love for Indy. Thx y'all!!!
