PG played better than I ever thought he was capable of. Big game.

Took every bit of that big game to carry us with Hibbert putting up 6 points on 12 shots. I dunno, I'm excited we won, I'm thrilled PG is capable of more than I ever dreamed for him... and I'm just sad at this point watching Hibbert play on the offensive end of the floor.
Lmao! That's all I can say.

Well, I know whose team this is when Granger returns.
When you see PG start shaking his head down the floor every offensive possession when he has a bad night, you will once again know that it is Granger again

I get it. You don't like Hibbert.

But he also had 9 offensive rebounds and 14 total. We scored as much off of his misses as we did off his makes. Leave Hibbert alone, he and our entire front line played like men tonight.

Plus, he must have had four of those misses (and a couple of those O-boards) on that one possession. You know the one I'm talking about. It wasn't like we were feeding him all night.

9 offensive rebounds and at least 5 of them were from his own misses from 2 feet away. Little perspective

Aside from his horrible offensive play, I have nothing bad to say about tonight's game.

The only thing that concerns me is that when Granger comes back, it's going to throw us off our rhythm and we might get worse on both ends. We need Granger to buy in to what we have going on right now and fit in rather than try to be the alpha dog. If he does that, then we'll be a pretty damn potent team.

Well hold on there, a good handful of those rebounds were him rebounding his own layup misses.

Danny's done that multiple times. I don't know why this is such a concern.

Danny Granger wants to win, he has a lot of backbone but no ego. When he comes back, he won't hurt our chemistry.

Good win. Not going to take too much from this game, but I did like seeing the bench play well against the Heat.

Huge props to Steve Nash breaking 10k assists.

Since when did this happen? He prefers sharing the offensive load if last season is an indication.

Our bench has to get a lot of credit for this win.

DJ was good tonight. He made good reads on offense, made the correct passes, took care of the ball and hit his FTs. Also, he wasn't bad defensively either. Granted, he will never be a good defense but he was at least commited in playing D and wasn't a revolving door.

Gerald Green was good as well. Yes, he only shot 3/11 but his D was great. I'm still in awe that he managed to draw an offensive foul by LeBron James. He also had 2 blocks and 2 steals. If he can give us that kind of defensive effort every game, he's going to be golden.

Ian Mahinmi continues to give us some great contribution. Remember when our defense fell off when Roy was on the bench in last year's playoffs? The Heat would just go on a run because our last year's bench lacked the size to stop penetration. Ian has that size. He is a true big man. He has learned some defensive tricks by Roy and he's no longer extremely foul prone. His ability to finish at the rim and hit the 15 foot jumper is a bonus

Tyler had a good game as well. Frank didn't use him as much as he normally gets because the game demanded that Ian should get some more mins but when he played he was good. He was his usual self, bringing energy, heart and hustle. Good job on hitting 5 of your 6 FTs as well.

Great game, bench. You outscored the Heat's bench 25 - 8.

PS: Orlando was ok in the minutes he played as well. He had 2 assists in 4 minutes which is always a good thing

I missed the game, but in the post game LeBron and Spoelstra both credited PG's improvement to improved confidence, and LeBron said Granger's absence gave PG the platform and opportunity to shine. Wade and LeBron also praised Paul George and Lance Stephenson.

It really seems like all those lumps our bench took earlier this year are kind of paying dividends lately and each are sort of coming into their own individually really wouldn't say as a unit cause that is still a pretty woeful sight to behold.

Orlando Johnson acquitted himself well in his four minutes. It's a shame he's going to be losing out to Dom McGuire in the near future.
His stint in D-League will do him good. I'm not afraid about OJ. He'll develop and earn some minutes here and there

Things have changed quite a bit since Granger's been gone. Paul George has become a legit offensive player and Lance Stephenson is getting better and better. Granger no longer needs to have that primary scoring wing mentality and hopefully he embraces that when he returns.

Roy Hibbert had an equal amount of offensive rebounds and missed shots (nine). He ended nine possessions with misses but also got nine new possessions with work on the glass. Now, obviously you'd prefer him to make more than 3 of 12, and a lot of those o-boards went right back up as opposed to out. But there's really no reason to rag on him tonight. He wasn't horrible. He didn't waste possessions or throw turnovers for the Heat to get fastbreak points from. He had that one laughable possession, sure, but he didn't cost us the game.

Yeah, did you guys see Danny Granger pouting on the sidelines every time Paul George hit a big shot?

    Me neither.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

This is a silly extrapolation. Why would Granger be upset when our team succeeds?

Hibbert had 9 offensive rebounds. 8 of his 12 shots came off of misses. I'm perfectly fine with it. He fought and earned those shots. It would be nice if he was to hit them but I'm not going to blame him if he misses them simply because we wouldn't get this shots if he wasn't there to rebound them.

I'm happy with Roy's 14 boards and defense
