I agree, but if McGuire is that solid...wouldn't he be already signed by now?

    Bingo!

You just had to go there didn't ya?

If this quoted post isn't obvious to the admin of blatant trolling, then I don't know what is...

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

I do like that we now have an open roster spot to bring in someone or call up a D-League player. We can use another wing.

Sam was a good guy to have on the roster and hopefully he has a quick recovery and can sign somewhere.

I'm cool with this. His D had fallen off quite a bit the last few weeks and he was just about useless on O. If Frank insists on going 4 deep at the wing I'd rather OJ get the minutes.

I'm guessing this was done just for roster flexibility. If Sam gets healthy and nothing comes up at the trade deadline that requires us to take on another contract, he might get re-signed.

It's amazing. We cut a player thats better than one we give a 3 yr 10 million dollar deal.

Amen. This whole "low BBIQ" argument about Green is bordering on ridiculous. He's athletic so he has to be stupid. Right? Right?
    What? Is this serious?

Or maybe that idea came about because of the incredibly stupid plays he makes on a consistent basis...

Sam is hurt, and will not play for several weeks. There is not much incentive to keep him around.

Btw, Green is much better than Sam has been.

    i respectfully disagree
If games are won and lost on a calculator and piece of paper, then why do we bother to play them?

What positives does Gerald Green bring to a game? Aside from a nice dunk every 12 games or so.

Sam Young was average for what his role was. And you take that and run with it. But if this is a financial decision then the role of the player is not worth the uproar. It is not like the season is make or break on Sam Young.

I've been disappointed with Young's play, so I'm not sad to see him go. And with him being injured, it's a no-brainer.

I don't know much about McGuire, but his team history isn't too impressive. Wizards, Kings, Bobcats, Raptors, Hornets. Is he too good to succeed on bad teams? So good that he couldn't fit in?

Not classy at all, I thought he was the most overrated player in Pacers history. I never had any use for the punk back to his days in Indiana high school ball.....

Ban me for thinking McBrick was a bum? I think I was proven right about that. He belongs playing in Europe. He can dunk, that is it, that is all there is or ever was....

McRoberts could fit into the offense though (he was a solid roleplayer) ... Green often disrupts offensive flow and his mental lapses prove to be drastically detrimental.

hate to burst your bubble, but Green does not disrupt the flow, in fact most of the shots he takes are good looks.

I think McGuire was just dropped by the Hornets. He was on a NBA roster prior to this.

It became that when someone noted that all Green can do is make an occasional spectacular dunk. Well, we already had that player and that God we let him go....
