    Default Fishing Question

It's just a few days away from usual fishing season, and I always have a large fish stock. I always have lots of fish to get me all the way through the year. Mostly blue gill, bass, and catfish. My question is, does anyone eat crappie? It's a fish I haven't tried before. I know people eat them and I'm wondering how they taste and so on.

Very much love bluegill and crappie tastes no different. generally a larger fish and put up a similar but stronger fight than "gills do. Where do you go this time of year?

I've never been fond of bass...do you have a secret way of cooking them that takes the strong flavor out?

I have a couple of small ponds I fish when it's this early in the season, I try to stay away from the rivers until it warms up a bit.

As far as flavoring the bass a little better, I do the standard soaking in ice milk for around 24 hours. Then I use "Uncle Bucks" fish batter (Hot N' Spicy). That usually does the trick. And thanks for tip in Crappie.

Live bait mostly, but I also use spinners a good amount.

I don't think there's a wrong way to fish. Well, with the possible exception of using dynamite.
