    Default Pacers/Celtics Postgame Thread 1/4/13

This is a resilient team and I expect them to completely turn it around tomorrow night.

We got completely worked. Move on to the next one.

If anyone has any positives, please let me know. Maybe Hansbrough?

Just a rough performance all around.

So does Garnett's flagrant two mean he is automatically suspended for tomorrow's game? I could take some solace in that after this debacle.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

I turned the game off. When did Garnett get a flagrant two? He hit Tyler in the face in the first half with no call...
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Ouch. That was not the Pacers of the last month. But a win against the Bucks will go a long way to put this behind us. We cannot afford to lose the season series to them.

A disgusting effort tonight, I won't pretend otherwise. But it's just one game. One awful, disgusting game.

Straight up embarrasing. Only Tyler and Ian showed up.

I am extremely dissapointed on the team tonight. We should beat them. Instead, we played like a pile of dog ****.

    Just embarrasing.

Anyway, let's hope that they forget all about today and beat Milwaukee tomorrow.

There is justice in this world.

Superstar Kevin Garnett blatantly smacks Tyler and actually gets a flagrant 2. Love it.

It's just one game folks. Not giving excuses here but s*** happens from time to time, even on other teams. So let's move on from here.

Anyway, I think this is the case where the substitutions should be situational more than rigid. Our starters were completely outworked. The bench should have been given more minutes other than garbage time to at least try something different. Tyler was doing better than West at this game and yet he wasn't given minutes in the 3rd quarter.

Hope that the starters gather themselves together the next game.

I'm ready to run some offense through Lance. Against a real defense, DJ and Paul didn't do so well.

I don't know. Not even being an initiator on offense in this one Lance looked like a hot mess on handles and decision making.

I think Hansbrough deserves more than 14 minutes a game now.. At least until West gets back to his normal self.. maybe he is tired or something.

He did run it three or four times. Fed West and Ian in spots where they could score.

Pacers missed too many open shots in the first half. Boston were physical and defended us pretty well, but I thought we created enough good looks in the first half to make it close.

Tyler and OJ played well in their minutes, everyone else was poor to average. We didn't post up Roy at all really.

Bucks getting beat at home by the rockets at the moment. Let this one go and gotta bounce back tomorrow

Gerald green and Ben hansborough are both giving us very little at the moment.

Really no qualms with trying to integrate Lance in this role on offense. Just saying the jury is still out on him. Even his improved play from a decision - making standpoint has cooled off a little recently, IMO. Of course, he may get back to it.

It worked well against Memphis. Memphis is a real defense.

    Boston is 22nd in opponent FG%, 22nd in opponent eFG%, 20th in opponent TS%, 17nd in opponent PPG and 14th in Defensive Efficiency. ( http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat...ive-efficiency )

They're not a real defense. They're a mediocre defense. We simply made them look like a real defense because we were so inexplicably awful.

The way I saw it, Roy was usually unable to establish himself well enough to make himself available. This wouldn't be the first time that has occurred by any stretch. He was just getting pushed out and off balance when trying to set up down low.

Their defense tonight was outstanding, however.

Boston still has the capability to be a good defensive team. They obviously haven't realized that potential this season consistently though.

Did they give any update on when Hill is expected to return? I didn't hear one, but then again I could only stand to watch this game in bits and pieces.

Maybe the Boston guards are better defenders than Memphis.

I think both defensive backcourts are good. Avery Bradley recently came back for Boston. He and Rondo offer a stellar defensive combo.
