Default League Pass (TV) Advice Needed

I'm a Directv subscriber in Illinois. Debating getting League Pass for the first time. Right now they've got an offer through tomorrow that includes $30 off, bringing the package to $160. However, I'm familiar w/ the NHL package and they usually do a half season package. Does the NBA offer the same thing? If so, playoff games that aren't nationally broadcast are available through that correct? When does the half season package typically become available? Around the all star break?

I know there have been several threads in the past on League pass but didn't find anything specifically about the midseason package in my search.

They do a halfseason package - usually around the 3rd week in january.

There are no playoff games on NBA League Pass. What isn't on ESPN, ABC or TNT is on NBATV channel and you do not need LP to get NBATV.

So all playoff games are nationally televised? I get NBATV so it shouldn't be a problem. I know for the NHL, usually first round games are covered by the regional networks (like FS Midwest for the Blues). FSIndiana doesn't cover any Pacers playoff games at all? If so, that's cool, just wanting to see what I'd be getting if I took the plunge.

All games are nationally televised. Having said that I am not sure, I think last year FSIN did televise a couple first round Pacers games, but they were also on NBATV - outside the Indy viewing area. You live outside the Indy viewing area, so if you have NBTV you will not miss a pacers playoff game.

Regardless LP has never, to my knowledge, televised any playoff games.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. If anyone knows the general price range it might run, it will be a big help. Thanks!

I seem to recall the half season price as being $129 or there abouts

Yeah, usually about the 19th. They'll usually do a free week trial when they offer the half-season package.

I remember a couple of seasons in a row it was $99. Pretty reasonable, actually.
