    Default Colts opponents in 2013

This is who they'll play, obviously we don't know the schedule yet

Home: Denver (dun dun dun), Oakland, St. Louis, Seattle, Miami, Houston, Tennessee, Jax

Away: KC, SD, Arizona, SF, Cincinnati, Houston, Tennessee, Jax

Right now we'd have the 24th pick in the draft, but obviously that depends on how the playoffs turn out.

For the first time in what seems like a hundred years, no New England game on the schedule.

I am glad we are playing them here though, they are pretty tough at home, but I guess so are we... Hopefully that turns into a big win...

Well the Colts will at least get 1 MNF or SNF game, no way that game against the Broncos isn't on NBC or ESPN. The AFC West is pretty easy besides them atm (though you can never predict anything, I mean the Colts were 2-14) and the NFC West playoff teams were split, 1 home and 1 road.

Broncos, Seahawks, Niners, Bengals, Texans x2...

Looks like we're going to have some tough tests next season, hopefully we can live up to expectations.

It'll be tougher, but that's what's expected when you're a playoff team, though I think its actually not that bad. (This is all based on teams being somewhat same record as now) 5 of the 8 home games shouldn't be that bad, and really the Seahawks are an average road team.

Should be able to win at least the 3 games they won this season vs Titans and Jags, split the Texans games, win vs Miami, Oakland, Kansas City, San Diego, St Louis, and Arizona and that's 10 games.

10 wins and a return to the playoffs will be a test. I think Pagano, Luck etc. etc. are up to it.

Obviously we don't know how the teams will be come next September and it's a risk judging them but we can only do as we see them now in their current state.

Overall, it's not bad at all. We showed that in our home we are really solid and fear no one so we will have a major advantage. Besides that, Oakland, Tennessee, Jax, St Louis and even Miami are more than winnable.

Away from home, KC, SD, Tennessee, and Jax could well end up solid wins. Cincy is winnable too.

I repeat, all that is on paper and we never know how it will turn out to be.

I expect 10 wins next year to win the division and the Texans will be playing a even tougher schedule but make no mistake this is a much harder schedule than this year. The only difference is that next years salary cap and another full off season of OTA and FA signings will be huge talent boost to this team. I expect the defense to be near if not in the top 10 next year. The only thing I think can throw the season into a tail spin is the loss of Arains and replacing him with a crappy OC. Outside of that I fully expect Grigson to fill the holes left by COlts FA's.

We need 3-4 new offensive lineman. If we get some good ones through FA/draft, that's all we need to get better. Defense obviously needs help, but if you give Luck time to throw, then we can get over a mediocre defense.

    Go Grigson Go.

We go on the road to Seattle and host Arizona. When we last played the NFC West in 2009, we hosted SF and Seattle and went on the road to Arizona and St. Louis. It will flip next year to the way it was in 2005: Arizona and St. Louis at home, Seattle and SF on the road.

That's very very very very bizarre. When you play an NFC division, you always have matchups which are the opposite of what they were the last time you played the division. In 08, we played at Minnesota and Green Bay while hosting Detroit and Chicago. This year it flipped and we hosted GB and Minnesota while going on the road to Detroit and Chicago. That is how it always works. I don't understand why we host Seattle when we hosted them in 2009. Surely there is an explanation.

I believe the NFL restructured all home/away match-ups after the '09 season to lessen the length of cross-country trips as much as possible. I believe they reorganized home/away based upon time zone differentials. So in the NFC West, the two teams in the Pacific Time Zone, Seattle and San Francisco, no longer are both home or both away opponents for any single team. Jacksonville, for example, doesn't have to travel to the west coast twice.

Easy away games besides Houston, but they're beatable. I'm definitely going to the Denver game.

Schedule doesn't seem much worse than the "easy" schedule we had this year IMO.

We will play at Seattle, because they played at Indy in 2009 and same for San Francisco.

That's what I thought too, but apparently not according to ESPN.

ESPN has no idea. They're just saying random stuff for TV. We play every division in every conference every 3 years and the locations for each matchup change

No we played them at home in 2009 and the schedule changes site every time we play them. We played at Seattle in 2005, at home in 2009, and will play there in 2013

When this was first brought up, I was just as adamant as you that we were playing Seattle on the road next year for the reasons you listed. But every sports site has us hosting Seattle instead, so it looks like we are catching a big break.
