so I know what if's don't count in the grand scheme of things but am I right in assuming that had the Colts not choked against the jags in the final minute of the game on the only possible way they could have beaten us, and the rest of the season played out the same way we would have won our division today and have home field advantage in the first round?
The Texans still had a better AFC record than us, so no.

I am going to be cheering for us obviously the whole way but once we're gone I'm going to be cheering for the broncos and Peyton to get himself another ring the guy was such a class act and his parting speech he made, just absolute class all-around. I will always respect manning for what he did for us while he was here, the guy deserves to have at least one more ring if not two more.

I love that this win could also lead to the Broncos getting the #1 seed. I REALLY want to see them knock out the Pats.
Yeah a Pats loss is always music to our ears but mainly for Peyton.

Not true. Common games is a higher tiebreaker than conference record. The Colts beat both GB and Minny while Houston lost to them so the Colts would have won the division had they beaten Jax in week 3.

    [EDIT]

Nevermind. Forgot about losing to the damned Jets....

So yes, IF the Colts had beaten Jacksonville in week 3, they would have had an identical 9-3 record vs. common opponents with Houston. The tiebreaker would then have went to conference record which Houston would have won 10-2 to the Colts 9-3, making them division champs.

Doesn't matter. Colts fell asleep and lost that game...

Ah, right on. Then, that doesn't make me feel so bad anymore...what an amazing amazing season this has been and going into the playoffs with absolutely nothing to lose, I surely wouldn't want to play us. Even if we get blown out there are so many memorable moments from this year, you could not have predicted/asked for anything more from this team. Really really special season i'll always remember.

I was watching the goodbye press conference the other day and couldn't stop than having a lump in my throat. What a guy. What a player. What a legend!

I can't get over how close the score was for this game like the one two weeks ago

    29-17 Texans a margin of 12
    28-16 Colts a margin of 12

We're playing the Ravens next weekend... while it may seem they are down I could totally see us getting waxed by them at the same time and to have it at the expense of Caldwell calling the plays... that would be brutal.

By the way, Brady Quinn looks exactly like he looked at ND. Same stance, same reads, same throws. Too bad for him that's not Navy or Pitt on the other side of the LoS.

I loved the "Oh crap we're going to have to go to Foxboro again" look on the Texans' faces at the end of the game.

Yeah, as bad as their offense has played recently, they had better take the Bengals a little more serious than that...

Watch any team that has even average protection and it really jumps out at you after watching our "line."

Its more noticeable given how Manning has a quick release and the O-Line still sucked here..

Hahaha. That's probably it after having watched our OL failing over and over again.

Manning should never attempt to tackle anyone(BTW this should probably be taken to the Broncos/Manning thread)

The Colts kept Houston winless in Indy, kept Houston out of the #1 seed, and kept JJ Watt from setting the sacks record. If that doesn't wake Houston up out of their funk nothing will.

Browsing through they Texans biggest message forum, they already know the division was just theirs for a short while and they will have to give it back to us for the next 12-15 years.

Let the reign of Andrew Luck and the Colts begin!
the next 10 years in the afc south will be fun.
Kubiak has given up, our team is crap, we need to just concede our playoff game and try again next year.

    LUCK IS A REAL QB!

    SCHAUB IS NOT!

    And my favorite quote:

Well at least the Texan's weren't the Colts ****** last year. The next 12-14 years will be fun

You know Houston and Tennessee have to be cursing Jacksonville for winning that last game last year.....
