Well, Heat fans claim that LeBron plays pretty soft defense this season.
Yep. No one really mentions this but LeBron has been playing with noticeably less effort on defense this season. He'll still make first team all defense because guys make that list out of reputation, but he hasn't played like a game changing player on defense this season. In their last game against the Jazz he was giving Marvin Williams open shots, going under screens at the three point line, etc and Williams had something like twelve points in the first quarter. LeBron could easily erase half of that just on effort alone.

The whole Heat team is coasting right now so it's hard to measure how good they actually are. Just looking objectively I think the Thunder and better and with more energy on offense and defense and I have them as the favorite to win the title at the moment.

Show me and obvious foul he commits and gets away with, only then does this really become an issue imo

Unfortunately, that's very true. And that annoys me to no end

Is Ibaka gonna be OK? I figure for them to have called it he must have a compound fracture or a severed artery...

In other news, NBA reffing still sucks. Of course Lebron fouls. In the playoff series he got away with some serious contact against the Pacers. I haven't seen the last five games, but I'm pretty sure he has committed a foul. I'm assuming none were called because no one wanted to watch him whine and cry and moan like a three year old who had his toy taken away.

More like, "how many did he kill?"

As we all know, Lebron could kill one guy and they'd call the foul on the body.

    Lebron absolutely gets favorable calls.

It's not that refs miss the obvious fouls. They don't. Those are typically called. (unless they happened to be against a bench or "no name" player)

It's the fouls that everyone else typically gets called for at least 50% (including other superstar players) of the time, that Lebron gets called for about 1% of the time. The biggest one actually being the block/charge call. He flat out runs people over and it's never called against him.

Actually that's #2. The most egregious thing he gets away with is his full-power shove whenever he drives with the ball. You're allowed to protect the ball with your off hand to some extent, but he literally shoves his defender almost every time. This is not a crafty push-off that the refs might miss, he makes it glaringly obvious and nobody (meaning the media) wants to acknowledge it. That's the biggest reason he's unguardable. It doesn't matter how big or strong you are, you wont get to the rim at will because there are rules in play to prevent that. Unfortunately, those rules don't apply to him.

I also found it sad that they showed KD's late dunk about five times, and each time you could clearly see Chalmers getting a full arm-slap on Durant, but no mention of a foul. Yet there's a BS foul on a Heat player and they're showing us replays of legal defense and telling us why it's an obvious foul.

    Lebron gets favorable calls (shocker!).

Lebron's also the best basketball player I've ever seen (including Jordan). I don't get why this is such a big deal. He's not a Pacer so hate him if you want, God knows I do, but he really is just THAT GOOD.
I'd have to rank Lebron as 3rd best behind Jordan and Magic. The things that Jordan could do defy logic. People always talk about how strong Lebron is but he's 6'8 and 245 lbs. MJ was 6'6 and skinny but was pound-for-pound one of the strongest players I've ever seen. Magic is another player that defied logic. We haven't had another player that can effectively play all 5 positions like Magic Johnson. Actually, Magic dominated no matter what position or role you put him in.

The biggest thing Lebron, Jordan, and Magic have in common is that they get the benefit of the doubt from the officials. Refs know that these guys are the smartest and greatest players in NBA history and believe it or not, they don't commit a lot of fouls anyway. Lebron doesn't reach and he doesn't gamble a lot on defense. He also doesn't spend a lot of time trying to gaurd the other team's best player until the 4th quarter.
