    Default Indy-Kings-Rockets

http://spacecityscoop.com/2012/12/22...arcus-cousins/ Should the Rockets trade for Cousins.

I did some research and these articles are from SI. They have their own "fan-blog" portal called Fansided.

The article suggests trading young assets for Cousins in order to pair up Harden, Lin and Cousins.

I think it makes sense, but I do believe something like this could go down as the Rockets have a lot of assets. Pacers should definitely get involved.

    Here is my take:
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=d3z6rhf
    Pacers:
    Fredette
    Terrence Jones
    Greg Smith

Why: Pacers unload DJ and Hans. They get a very good backup PF/C in Greg Smith, who is also a college buddy of PG. Jones could be the PF of the future. Fredette is a bad fit for the Kings and should flourish in the half court set of the Pacers.

    Kings:
    Omar Assik
    Chandler Parsons
    DJ Augustin
    Orlando Johnson
    1st from Rockets (possibly 2)
    1st from Pacers

Why: They need to trade Cousins, and hit the reset button. They don't want large contracts, but young players, expirings and picks. They get that here. Kings are stacked at the PF position, so they get a young and good SF and a young sg. They get a replacement C in Assik, who is a rebounding machine.

    Rockets:
    Cousins
    F Garcia
    Hansbrough

Why: Well, they get to pair up Cousins with Harden and Lin. Now they are a young and lethal team. Should be alley oops city with LeeLin and Harden setting up Cousins for easy points. Hansbrough will bring great energy off the bench.

I would like to take a run at both of these young players, but DJA and THans are not going to get you anyone of this caliber, IMO. All DJ and Tyler offer is expiring contracts. If we move them, I would think, it would have to be to a team with salary cap problems.

I may be the only one that disagrees, Jimmer is shooting less than 40% on the month, and while his assist to TO is not bad at 2 he still does not offer much on defense., Terrence Jones is still a project, and not sure what Smith's ceiling is, he is a okay NBA player I think.

But with that being said Pacers are getting rid of two expiring contract, a first, and a guy they traded up to get in OJ.

I don't think it is ridiculous, but right now is not the time to trade those players, we are basically buying high and selling low, we should wait and hope they improve their trade potential and get more out of the deal.
    Why so SERIOUS

I don't disagree with ou at all. Unless there is a really good PG, PF backup available as a part of a multi team trade we can slide into, I think at this point, we should just wait out the season and let DJA, TH and Pendy walk. Maybe we can use their money to sign a good backup in the off season. Hopefull, Plumlee will have shown enough promise by then to play some 4 as well as Mahimni. If we are letting West walk, all other considerations are out the window.

By including the Pacers in this deal, the Kings essentially get a late 1st round pick for Terrence Jones+Greg Smith+Fredette. That wouldn't be smart of them.

True, Augustin and Orlando Johnson. That doesn't really change the equation. They'd be much wiser just getting Terrence Jones+Smith and keeping Fredette.
