It's just hard to see who the odd man out is once Granger returns. Lance is the best facilitator on the team. He also has the best vision, the best handles, and the ability to get into the paint. His fast break game is excellent as well. How do you sit that guy on the bench?
I'm going the other way with it. I can't wait for Granger to come back, so Lance can fix the bench. First option on the bench instead of 5th option with the starters?

Heck, I'd strongly consider giving him the backup PG spot just to see what he'd do with it.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

You're only as strong as your weakest link, and the backup point guard position is about as weak as a link can be. I'm ready to try Augustin again. Hansbrough was atrocious tonight.
They really pressured him and he struggled getting the ball up. They really attacked him. But his defense was still stellar compared to Augustin's. The way we have been running our offense, the point is just dishing the ball off anyways. We need more screens for him when they pressure him like that. You have to counter that and make it easy for him. Our team defense will suffer if Augustin replaces him and I believe that is more important to this team the way it is built. We are winning games with our defense, and our defense leads to our offense.

They had little Hans targeted from the beginning due to the last game. While they did take him out of the game and force a turnover, they spent a lot of effort doing that...while they didn't spend enough effort trying to stop guys like Lance who made them pay. Then there was the leather delivered by GG. I think I'll take the trade-off...

If this is going to happen I think they need to make the switch sooner rather than later. Green needs to go into the starting lineup so we can see what Lance really can give us at the 6th man. I want him to have all the backup minutes at the Wing position. Right now in a system he is doing great, I want to see what happens when he has some pressure on him to score and make others better.

Damn Bulls and Bucks win games they should have lost.
Why? The Bucks are better than the Celtics at this point. Avery Bradley hasn't returned yet and with Jason Terry going 1/15 you cannot expect a lot of things from the Celtics. They'll turn it up later in the season.

The Bulls win was unexpected, though. I agree on this.

Hopefully that ankle injury Gerald suffered isn't anything severe as he's really looked good the past few games.

Really looking a lot more comfortable and looking like himself. He's definitely being used more to his full abilities. He's driving more, he's handling the ball more to get shots.

He was unfairly thrown under the bus, but knowing his skills and his talent, you knew he'd break out of that slump sooner or later.
I've always thought he was getting good looks, just not knocking them down. I think that dunk in the UTAH game may have woken him up a bit. These past two games were the Gerald Green we all hoped we would get! Obviously he won't continue this hot streak forever, but if he can give us 10ppg from from the bench I'm all for it(especially if he can give us one crazy dunk a game lol sheesh)

I don't think we can afford to do that as a team. What he is bringing to our team is very important. Even when he's not playing so well, he opens up the floor for us a little. There will be time enough to work him out as a backup when Granger returns. Honestly sticking him on the bench to do his thing wouldn't really be that great since the only guy who's a threat to go off other than him on the bench is Green. Who would be starting in his place.

Our bench is going to be pretty good once Granger gets back and Lance/Green are playing together instead of Green/Young. Lance and Green in transition...oh man.

I think that may be where we end up: Lance, Green, Young, Tyler, Ian.

You'd think we'd have already seen it at least once by now. I guess we'll have to watch Ben lose the ball another 20 times first.

7 for 14.......I could have sworn that West missed 14 shots. I guess it is just one of those nights were reality didn't meet up with perception, but at the time it sure seemed like he was missing the majority of his shots.

I think he opened up by missing most of his shots in a row. And of course his FT shooting was terrible. But he also made a lot from the field when he wasn't getting fouled toward the end of the game.

    Heh.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/hibbert...1171--nba.html

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Huddled around a laptop in the middle of their locker room, the Indiana Pacers watched Gerald Green's ferocious dunk over and over again. They couldn't get enough.

Once was more than the sinking Cavaliers could handle.

I had enough after about 6 replays, 3 by the broad cast...and 3 by youtube. I don't think I've seen a better dunk in traffic than that one...combined with the chippiness that was going on at that time. Very awesome.

Edit: def best dunk by an NBA pacer from my viewing...

Gerald Green left the game with a sprained ankle? Wasn't able to see the game tonight.
"We've got to be very clear about this. We don't want our players hanging around with murderers," said Larry Bird, Pacers president.

I think it's a given that Lance will get all the backup pg minutes and pick up minutes at the backup sg spot as well. I hope Augustin and Ben never see the floor again once Granger is back.

Should probably give Lance an extension while he'll still be cheap.

Glad he still has another team option left....
Since Lance is a 2nd round pick......is he a RFA or UFA when his current contract expires?

I don't think that he will get a HUGE contract offer ( a la Lin / Asik ) but since he's a 2nd round pick...can't some Team make the same offer as what was made to Lin and Asik where it is severely "back loaded"?

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.
