Arizona doesn't even deserve to be a 3 IMO, but that's a topic for another day I guess.
I have to admit I haven't seen a single one of their games yet this year but from what I hear, your sentiment is probably about right.

I completely agree. That's a team that should have another loss (see: Colorado) and would quickly be bounced to the middle of the pack in the Big Ten. Like McKayla Maroney, I am not impressed.

Well if you remember, in his early NBA career Artest was not much of a shooter, he was actually decent ball handler who got a lot of his points by muscling to the basket and doing work in the paint which was why he struggled quite a bit in our ECF against Detroit and their shot blockers.
It's not like I'm saying Artest had a sweet stroke back then but he had enough form and fundamentals that you could at least recognize it as a jumpshot. Not sure you can say the same thing about Jones.

He could also do some things with the basketball but I don't think at any level was an offense primarily run through Artest.

Jones is the guy at Butler. Clarke might bring the ball up into the front court but in the half court offense he spends most of his time off the ball and running through screens. Jones is the primary ball handler and initiator in that offense.

I didn't get to see any of the game but suffice to say I'm not surprised. On the road against a decent team without Clarke it's not shocker they had such an issue scoring. Looking forward to Saturday and Temple. They've been really up and down but I'd expect a very good effort from them and that Khalif Wyatt can really play.

VCU lost in OT at Richmond last night. No more unbeaten A-10 teams.

That's weird. I could have sworn you just posted this:

I can't say anything about the ones who are dead, it would get me kicked off of this thread but you all know where I stand on that. Teams get me for a fan until they make unforgivable blunders. That is what IU did and I was so disgusted by it that I no longer watch NCAA sports any longer. They lost me and many others. It doesn't matter that they are all gone.... IU bought into the dark side. I suspect that they still are.....

Elijah Brown, son of Mike Brown, commits to Butler. If he ends up moving into the top 150 which has been projected, Butler will have 3 top 150 players in this class. I'm pretty sure Butler has only had 3 or 4 top150 players ever.

Sounds like Stevens projects him as a combo guard.

With Dunham already in place if they can get Blueitt to commit for 2014 the wing offense should be in great hands for years to come.

Watched the game tonight. Awesome to see Clark healthy and on the court again. Hoping the sloppy passing, driving into trouble and just general "forcing the issue" was more about him being jacked up to play again and not something we will see come tournament time. To me he is the key to a deep tournament run. If he can be patient, play effeciently and hit big perimeter shots the Bulldogs have a chance to go far again.

Sort of bummed they are lowering capacity now that we can sell out 10K. Still a nice win. Dunham is becoming a stud. He'll fill the Clarke role very well next year.

Glad Clarke is back. Now the full team is back. They played their best game of the season vs Gonzaga without him, but with him, this is a dangerous tournament team

They played pretty well against Gonzaga but it was far from their best.

I dont understand how Gonzaga can be ranked ahead of Butler, but it's a good sign of respect that Butler remained in the Top 10 after that loss to Lasalle.

Gonzaga only has two losses and one of them was on a last second shot in a hostile road environment. It's pretty easy to understand in my opnion.

Big game tonight. Butler is a 1 point underdog at St. Louis. If they can get a win they'll remain alone in 1st place and the schedule lightens up quite a bit in February so a win there would go a long way towards a conference title.

Clarke's presence helps tremendously. He brings energy, quickness, and opens up the inside a lot for our big men. He just makes the whole team better. I think he's our best player from purely a basketball standpoint, but I agree that guys like Jones and Smith are equally as important.

Well, that may have been the worst game I've seen a Brad Stevens team play. And I watched the 2011 National Championship.

That was our 2011 Milwaukee game. I'm not too concerned for the next few games but I feel like we've given a winning formula for other teams. High pressure will kill us. We miss Hopkins a lot.

That was a game Butler could afford to lose. It won't hurt their resume at all. SLU is a good team

We won't be a 1 or 2 seed now but seeding doesn't really concern me. Losing 1 of the next 6 will hurt bad though.

Also 3 of the 4 teams we have lost to either have Butler connections or coaches that are very familiar with Butler. Illinois has Groce a former Butler player and assistant. Xavier has Travis Steele who went to Butler. SLU has Jim Whitesell who was a thorn in Butler's side at Loyola. No coincidence that these guys beat us.

I think you guys can still be 2. Butler would have only been a 1 if they went unbeaten after Gonzaga.

I don't think this game hurts Butler much as far tournament standing ether. But I'm still seeing some things that I noticed in the Temple game that IMO don't bode well for a deep tournament run.

Clarke is forcing things big time and when he does he becomes way too ball dominant and turnover prone. Barlow is very suspect against pressure, Jones is not playing well and the overall team defense is not up to 2010 & 2011 standards.

Jones will come around and I have faith that Stevens will have the defense clicking in March. Clarke being patient in big games and Barlow (or any of the other guards not named Clarke) handling the ball against pressure I'm not so sure about.

I still think a 3 is more likely, but if Butler wins out and performs well in the A-10 and wins the conference tournament, I think they'd be a 2 easy.

worth mentioning that the guy that wrote this is an agent and one of his clients is a Butler assistant, but still a pretty good read
