Butler is gonna have to chill a bit on the out of conference schedule after next year. The team is clearly gassed.
I think that is a safe assumption. Most of those games were scheduled as members of the Horizon League, and were necessary for seeding purposes.

They weren't really this year, and they definitely won't be anymore.

We had an in-conference stretch, can't remember which one, but by the end of it the team looked dead. Honestly, even if Castro or Berry aren't ready to start next year, at least they'll give the starters more rest. Clarke and Smith both have to play way more than they should due to the lack of depth.

Of course that non-conference schedule is the reason why we'll be in the tourney this year.

Read again, hoss. Louisville/Notre Dame was the game of the year. Ohio State over Indiana was the win of the year.

Dunham and Jones were great gets. Jones is rough but he knows how to use his body, and Dunham is going to be a star. Kam is developing well but has a long way to go. The best excuse is that every player was recruited to be in the Horizon League, but we REALLY need Trevon Bluiett. Our 2014 class hangs on him.
Woods has already come a long way from where he was. He has a nice midrange jumper already and a lot of times, it's him that Stevens relies on instead of Marshall. He's already a key rotational player for us.

I don't think our 2014 class hangs on Bluiett. It would certainly help, but Butler will continue to get their kind of guys. Guys that are overlooked, but are smart, tough and learn to play in a team system.

Speaking of Blueitt, he was at the Michigan game @ Mackey the other day. He's been to at least 4 games @ Mackey from what I understand, so that's cool, but I don't think it was a coincidence that he wanted to come to one where Michigan played.

Big win tonight. As long as VCU takes care of business we've got a bye.

Good to see Woods stepping up prior to the tournament. If both he and Marshall can start playing consistently well the Dawgs will be a tough out.

Liked what I saw on the defensive end for most of the night. Barlow was big time, Jones was good as always and even Woods had a good stretch where he blocked/altered several shots. Xavier had a couple of bigs playing over their heads (helped along by a subpar defensive effort by Smith) otherwise I think Butler could have coasted home with this one.

    Ball security was better too.

Free throw shooting continues to be an issue.

Big Win last night. You could tell Xavier wasn't going to go down easy.

Major props to KWoods last night, he was the difference maker.

I like the way this team bounced back last week. If I'm a 1 seed, I know I don't want Butler in my region.

Honestly I just really hope that happens because it would be so freaking epic.

As much as Butler is a stylistic nightmare for IU, I would love to see them in the NCAAs. I would have to think the Hoosiers would have revenge on their minds.

That's why I don't want to see IU again. I think it would be a close game but I don't want to lose the bragging rights.

I think it's good for the sport to have a big conference where basketball is the major sport, not football.

The A-10 is live streaming the conference tournament games. You can find Butler's game versus La Salle here: http://www.atlantic10.com/allaccess/?media=379459

Dawgs played really well today against LaSalle. Starting to look like that team we saw in the beginning of the season.

SLU will be a major test for us. They've had our number so far. Hopefully, Stevens can make the adjustments, and we come out to play.

Butler actually got a fair seeding. A-10 got a lot of love.

    Bring on Bucknell!

I don't hate this draw for Butler. Feels like a reasonable opportunity to get to the sweet 16.

Bucknell's problem is they can't force turnovers. If they can't exploit our poor handling, they'll need to hope we have our worst rebounding game of the year.

I wouldn't be shocked by anything from a first round exit to an Elite Eight appearance.
