Butler has now beaten three teams that were ranked top 10 at the time of the game.

I love to hate Butler, but credit where credit is due: Brad Stevens is the best in game coach in college basketball. I'm not saying that as hyperbole either. That guy is amazing. His teams are so well prepared.

Both teams ahead of them lost, and with taking down Gonzaga, Butler is almost a lock to move into the top 10. Florida and Minnesota will jump over the Zags, Creighton and Ohio State will fall behind Butler, and there's no way the voters will leave Gonzaga ahead of Butler.

    Current rankings

    8 Gonzaga
    9 Minnesota
    10 Florida
    11 Ohio State
    12 Creighton
    13 Butler

After today's games probably more like this

    8 Minnesota
    9 Florida
    10 Butler
    11 Gonzaga
    12 Ohio State
    13 Creighton

No timeout to setup the defense or plan the play following the likely coming foul there at the end. A well-coached team knows what needs to be done and Butler is that. They got it done.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

As much as I enjoy watching IU, there is something special when you watch Butler. They just make you feel good inside. Man are they fun

It's becoming pretty obvious that Roosevelt Jones is a cold blooded killer, at least for this game he was...

BTW is that the worst inbounds pass in history or what? I mean, that guy is seven foot and the inbounder didn't even get it into the same area code as that guy.

Wasnt the inbounder John Stockton's kid? I think that makes that inbounds pass even worse.

Yes that's David and I agree can't believe it wasn't emphasized more but that was a great ending for Butler so really that was secondary.

However I cringed when I saw the crowd rush the floor. Especially when Jones and others slid to the ground and it seemed like the students were jumping on top of them... I'm like don't get hurt.

Even though I'm not a Butler fan per se I do like them. But I only support them because they're the local team they are fun to watch they have heart and they're a throwback to when sports were about love of the game rather than who has the "bigger program"

And that crowd showed a love for the game I think that's what makes them special.

The way Stockton looked, it seemed like the plan was for Olynyk to stand still and Stockton throw him the ball, which seems like a solid plan to me. He just panicked and moved.

I hate storming the court and am against it in almost all situations...but I was one of the first people out on the court. The moment was overwhelming.

They need to factor in that we did this without our best player who has carried us this year. I don't think it matters because, right now, I don't see us losing for a long while.

Watched it live (around 6 a.m. when it ended I think, couldn't sleep) and couldn't believe both the inbound pass gift and the winner. Love watching the crowd storming the court after some winner (although not much appropriate until it is a final or something).

In this case I can live with the students storming the court. Hinkle doesn't host many top 10 teams. Add to that the students being whipped into a frenzy by having Gameday in the house and broadcasting all day, and that kid hitting that amazing half court shot to win the contest on Gameday. Also playing a tough game like that without their injured best player. And if all that wasn't enough, the game goes down to the wire and they win on a buzzer beater after a turnover that made it look like a sure loss. It would be hard not to rush the court after all that.

I watched the game at BW3 and I literally ran around the restaurant after the shot. The whole place went nuts. What a game. Gameday was incredible as well

Roosevelt Jones has been quoted in a few recaps of the game that he overheard Gonzaga's play being called by one of their coaches and knew it was coming. Says he heard one of their coaches call the lob to Olynyk.
