Logan was excellent. More serious tone than the other X-Men movies, and Hugh Jackman's best performance as Wolverine. My only real complaint is that it was somewhat predictable.

I just got back from the theater and saw it as well. I loved it. Curious to know what you found predictable because there were a lot of emotional shocks towards the second and third act.

Logan was phenomenal. Gritty, violent, and yet packed a great emotional punch. Well done.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

Table 19- Saw an advanced screening of it earlier in the week. It was okay for what it was if I paid for it I would be more bothered by it but if you have nothing better to do this isn't a bad movie to watch even if it seemed all over the place. If anything it made me want to see a potential romantic comedy between Craig Robinson/Lisa Kudrow though.

The Thin Man- Really old movie about Nick and Nora Charles(a franchise that I've heard of never watched until now) I liked it although I bet the books were better.

    Logan

While it was a fantastic watch, I just don't see think I'd watch this over and over like some of the other X-Men movies. Still, it was the right tone and violence for a Wolverine movie.

Only thing I didn't like was using mutant DNA to essentially create clones. It was really weak, and the younger Wolverine looked a lot like if Liev Schrieber's Sabertooth and Wolverine had a baby.
First time in a long time, I've been happy with the team that was constructed, and now they struggle. I blame the coach.

Johnson Family Vacation- Lots of recognizable actors rather predictable but still nice to watch regardless.

McFarland USA- Typical Disney sports movie fare still liked it too.

Gifted- I saw an advanced screening of this starring Chris Evans and Octavia Spencer. Rather predictable but I still liked the movie. It was good.

Months later and I now have watched Rogue One.
I thought it was well done. It actually strengthens A New Hope by explaining away what's been considered a plot hole.
It had some lighter dialog in it, but overall the movie was rather dark.
I also expected this to be more of a standalone movie in the Star Wars universe. Maybe that's just because I managed to stay away from spoilers and trailers. I didn't expect it to connect right on directly into A New Hope like it did. So essentially, it's a prequel that fits in at 3.5 in the series (smack dab between Ep III and Ep IV).

I can't imagine any Star Wars fans being disappointed with it... or Sci Fi fans in general.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Remake of Stephen King's IT trailer. I think it set a record for most views of a trailer in short period of time. Comes out September 8.

The original was actually a solid Stephen King adaptation. This looks creepy as hell. I'm getting hyped.

Deja Vu- Fun thriller went by pretty fast kind of trippy. Was surprised to see Val Kilmer in it.

The thin man movies are a lot of fun, Nick and Nora were such well loved characters that they still sell Nick and Nora stuff today.

Logan was incredible, by far the best X-Men movie, between that and Guardians we can see that movies from all over the spectrum can work. They do not all need to be gritty, or funny or whatever. Just make the right movie for the subject.

    Power Rangers

I didn't hate it. The story felt a bit like The Breakfast Club with superheroes. They tried to find the right balance of seriousness while retaining the cheesy charm of the original show, with mixed results. Elizabeth Banks did a nice job as Rita, and I liked the new Kimberly and Billy, as well. Goldar was the typical "lame movie monster with no personality."

    Spoiler Spoiler:

Overall, it was pretty average non-Marvel superhero fare.
