Thread: What movie did you last watch?

The Adventures of Tintin- as someone who grew up reading these books I loved getting to watch this movie, and I love that Spielberg and Jackson worked on it together. Can't wait for the sequels
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

    Divergent.

It was a movie that was good 1 time through. No need to probably ever rewatch.

I watched Hook a few nights before Robin Williams died, coincidentally. Underrated movie. Dustin Hoffman kills it as the Captain. It also gave the world Rufio.
Such a good movie. I hadn't watched it since I was a kid and there was just so much more that I noticed this time around

Watched the director's cut of The Town on Friday. Hadn't seen that version of the movie before. Very, very good stuff.

Guardians Of The Galaxy is basically perfect. Andy Dwyer becoming a superstar makes me happy.

I just watched that recently. No shame in liking it. I thought it was pretty good.

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

I enjoyed it, but there were too many plot holes and pacing issues to call it a good movie. It wasn't terrible, though. The special effects were top-notch and the Turtles' personalities were spot-on.

    Guardians of the Galaxy

Excellent movie. Not quite on par with Avengers, Cap 2, or DOFP, but solidly second tier. The cameo after the credits was a bit...unexpected. Based on reactions, I think I'm the only one in the theater who even knew who it was.

I knew who it was, but I agree. Then again, I have comic book, H the D #1, somewhere. That kind of dates me, doesn't it? I wonder if they are planning a reboot of the original movie. First thought was that I hope not, but everything that Marvel has touched lately, save maybe that one Wolverine movie, has turned out decent or better.

I liked Guardians better than the movies you mentioned although I have not seen Cap2. All great movies but I loved the characters and the plot and the music mixed in with the character. Waited for the cameo and yes it was odd. Howard looked very odd in CGI. My daughter was totally confused.

    Edge of Tomorrow.

What can I say, I'm trying to catch up on some movies. Thought it was pretty good up until the ending. It was too Hollywood cliche. Would have been better if it ended right after the thing blew up and no one knowing it was him. Would have been more interesting, like the ending to The Mist. The kind of ending that actually sticks with you. No one remembers all the cliched happy endings.
I liked the ending and thought it was one of the best Cruise movies period. Lots of humor in that one as well.

The One I Love is pretty good, somewhat odd, but good. A married couple's on the rocks and a therapist recommends a weekend getaway spot (there's WAY more to it than that, but don't wanna ruin it). So they go and there's a computer in the house with a bunch of folders on the desktop of previous couples that had been there, including "Kobe and Vanessa." That gave me a good laugh.

As Above, So Below. No spoilers.

Save your money. Not worth full price admission. I caught it for $6.

The movie has a creepy overall setting and tone as it is set in The Catacombs in Paris.

The story centers around Flamel, alchemy, and a group's quest for The Philosopher's Stone (no, this isn't Harry Potter).

The Catacombs and further tunnels and passageways did give me some serious claustrophobic feelings. The film has some good jump scares throughout, but it descends to an incomprehensible mess after a while. I still don't quite understand the full story and all that happened or even why things happened. If you want a good cave horror movie, look up 2005's The Descent.

Finally watched 12 Years a Slave. Great acting and and gut-wrenching to watch as I expected.

Boyhood - remarkable movie. Perhaps the most real to life movie I have ever seen. Maybe not as good of a movie as the critics have suggested, but I really enjoyed it.

    Man of Tai Chi.

Hard to buy Keanu as a villian and he did a decent job. The movie made little sense, but that's probably not why you are watching. Fight scenes were just ok.

I finally watched Neighbors. Not too shabby. I would give it an 8/10.

Very enjoyable. Some slow spots, but just a well made movie, imo.

Shadow Recruit was alright. Certainly nothing Earth-shattering.

    Compound Fracture

Michael Myers (Tyler Mane) vs. Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears)

Not bad. Kind of a psychological/slasher hybrid film.

Looks like Babadook is the next great horror film to come along according to ratings. Been a pretty strong last few years for horror films.

Gone Girl - that was something else. I have not read the book or know anything about it prior to seeing the movie. The movie was really good, I enjoyed it, certainly kept my attention. I did know going in the reviews were really good, and for the first 45 minutes of the movie, I couldn't figure out why, but then later I figured out why
