I don't know about you...but I don't want my $14 mil player playing garbage time for risk of injury.
Eh, I don't want my $14 mil player having 0 offense all year, and if hitting a few garbage buckets could help I'm all for it. To me the possible benefit of getting Roy's offense going > possible risk of injury.

I know it's crazy and an over-reaction from tonight's game, but I'd almost rather see Ben start at PG, sliding GH over to shooting guard that seen Green or Young start there... Ben can actually pass the ball, and it'd be nice to see that with the starters.

Bench average FG% per game. Of course Ben hasn't had enough attempts to include him but this is really bad. With Roy looking like he has regressed to high school days, it just shows that PGeorge, Hill and West MUST have solid games for this team to win.

    FGM FGA FG%
    Gerald Green, SF 2.7 7.0 .381
    Tyler Hansbrough, PF 1.5 4.0 .376
    Ian Mahinmi, C 1.6 3.9 .415
    Sam Young, SF 1.8 4.4 .405
    D.J. Augustin, PG 1.0 3.8 .266
Too slow! Seriously, though, I wonder why our numbers are different? What's your source?

I was thinking the same thing... then I thought to myself how ridiculous that thought is, but that's how much I don't want to see Green or Young starting.

Hey, admitting you have a problem is the critical first step. Now the healing can start.

So you're saying our bench shoots as well as our max center then? They must be due for some big paydays!

Lets wait until about ten to fifteen games before we anoint Ben as a serviceable backup.

I wouldn't expect Lance to be playing this week, but next week he should be able to play.

I went to the game today and a win is a win but the game was just ok, maybe they looked better on tv?

I agree. He looked like all heart/hustle and little talent to me. Better than I expected, but he still didn't look good, and he had some wonky passes. It just looks okay because he's not shooting a three pointer 5 seconds into the shot clock on every other possession like DJA did.

Speaking of which, I hope this is the kick in the pants that DJA needs. We've seen what getting 0 pts and being doubted did for Paul George: it lit a fire for the first time in his career (Hi to the guys who said he was really career 14 ppg material) and may well get him into the All Star Game if he keeps it up. On that note, another great game for him. And I'm glad they're not force feeding Hibbert anymore. Let him score on putbacks and wide open dunks.

The 23 points the Cavaliers scored in the 2nd half is the fewest points allowed by any team this season.

EDIT: Also, apparently, the fewest points the Pacers have allowed in a half since the ABA/NBA merger.

I went to ESPN team stats. They only listed "average" shots and makes per game, not season totals so I imagine that's why they are a little different. I like yours better!!

    They still stink however.

The difference was because Anthem's had today's stats, and yours did not.

I said I wanted to see 5 games from you PG, and 5 games you have given me. Hot damn son, well done. Can't wait to have him and Danny on the wings. Best wing combo in the NBA after Lebron and Wade if Paul can keep this up.

No. I can't imagine Jermaine O'Neal going through a slump like this. That's because he never went through a slump like this one. He didn't shoot the ball that well his last couple of years because he was playing on two bad knees and a bad shoulder but he never struggled to score like Roy is this year.

With that said, Roy's defense has been fantastic. His offense has been rather Rodman-esque.

Cool tweet about Paul George from Micheal Grady after the game:
Michael Grady is a thief!!! I started the Neo/Matrix analogy long ago, probably prematurely.

Also, I'm just sayin' but it says a lot about how ****** our backup PG has been so far this season when all Ben did tonight was pretty much try on D and not **** up on offense and I felt like I was watching a whole different group. DJ should probably start brushing up on the romantic languages.

Quinn Buckner said that Ben plays basketball like a football player. That's the second unit we need, hard nosed, physical, scrappy, with talent mixed in. With the Hans-Bros doing what they do best it can rub off on the other guys on the court. That's what had been missing, IMO, from last year's team with Lou, Dahntay, Barbosa, and (at times) DC.
Hope these guys can keep it up, not a pretty win, but there's no such thing as a bad win.

I'm intrigued by the Hansbrough boys. At the least, it forced the opposing team to play our game - it forced them to react to neverending energy, hustle, and scrappy play, which is kind of what our bench did last season. I want to see more of it!

To be fair to Ben, I thought he played pretty well. Maybe it is just the expectations DJ has created, but I thought most of his passing was on point and HE MADE A JUMPSHOT!

Thought Gerald Green played OK for the most part. Shot poorly, but his shots were good ones. Defense for the most part was OK. Used his size well. Looked like a guy that will make a positive contribution.

Also to be fair, this is a very low bar for a professional basketball player to jump over. Hooray, completed passes and a jump shot.

This is not a slight at Ben in any way, just sad, sad commentary on how bad DJ was.
