ATLANTA -- New Orleans Saints players say their bus was pelted with eggs by airport workers after they touched down in Atlanta.

    More on Falcons vs. Saints

Are the Falcons for real? Beating the Saints would be a milestone of sorts and would help to answer that question, Pat Yasinskas writes. Blog

Stats & Info: Falcons NFC's best?

Tight end Jimmy Graham, linebacker Will Herring and quarterback Chase Daniel tweeted about the incident Wednesday night at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The Saints (5-6) face the first-place Falcons (10-1) on Thursday night at the Georgia Dome. New Orleans has won four straight and 11 of 13 in the series, including a 31-27 home win over Atlanta on Nov. 11. It remains the only loss for the Falcons (10-1), who otherwise have dominated the NFC South race.

Graham wrote on Twitter: "Bus just got egged after landing in ATL by the ramp workers. Classy!"

Daniel tweeted, "Wow ... we start getting eggs thrown (at) us by airport workers! Guess they do hate us!"

Herring seemed amused by the incident.

"First time my bus has been egged by opposing fans!" he tweeted. The game "should be fun!!"

The Falcons, four games ahead of second-place Tampa Bay, can clinch the division if they beat the Saints on Thursday night and Denver beats the Buccaneers on Sunday.

The Falcons couldn't score after having a second down at the Saints' 1-yard line late in the teams' last meeting. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said it was a missed opportunity the team can't repeat in its second chance against the Saints.

"The last time we played them, we fell short a little bit in the red zone," Ryan said. "Playing against New Orleans, it's imperative when you have opportunities in that part of the field, you have to take advantage of them and score touchdowns. I think that's something I can do better and we can do better as a team."

The missed opportunity prompted Falcons receiver Roddy White to say after the game, "It's not like they came out here and won a game. I think we kind of gave it to them."

Saints defensive end Will Smith didn't take kindly to those words, saying this week that White "has a problem with just saying things without thinking before he says things."

White didn't talk with reporters this week.

Drew Brees was throwing eggs back at them, however his aim was way off on all of them.

He kept trying, however, when told that he was approaching an egg-throwing record.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

He did look god awful last night. The Falcons weren't particularly impressive. Most of the Brees interceptions seemed to be because of him screwing up, not because of the Falcons making great plays.
