'Parks and Recreation' plans Indianapolis field trip

NBC sitcom's cast will visit in December

The civil servants of fictional Pawnee, Ind., are headed back to Indianapolis.

According to NBC, cast and production crew of sitcom "Parks and Recreation" will be in Indianapolis during the first week of December to film at various locations.

In 2010, the show shot an episode at the Indiana Statehouse. "Parks and Recreation," which stars Amy Poehler as a city council member, airs at 9:30 p.m. Thursdays on WTHR-13.

The specific roster of "Parks and Recreation" players that will visit in December is unclear, but several characters may have a mission in the Circle City:

    >> Andy Dwyer (portrayed by Chris Pratt) could look up NFL wide receiver Reggie Wayne, as Andy wore a Wayne jersey at his wedding.

    >> Tom Haverford (portrayed by Aziz Ansari) could reconnect with NBA center Roy Hibbert, who did some moonlighting for Haverford's media conglomerate Entertainment 720.

    >> Chris Traeger (portrayed by Rob Lowe) could visit the chic apartment where he lived when he worked for the Indiana state government.

    >> Ron Swanson (portrayed by Nick Offerman) could visit the former site of his favorite restaurant, Charles Mulligan's Steak House

I'll be disappointed if they don't make a "your'e in the NBA? for real?" joke with Miles.

Watching tv tonight...there are Colts players on the show too. They showed Andrew Luck and other Colts at LOS. So awesome.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

It was fitting that Ron Swanson's pick was St. Elmo's.

'Parks and Recreation' is headed back to Indianapolis

“Parks and Recreation” lead character Leslie Knope has a date in real-life Indianapolis.

According to NBC, cast and production crew of “Parks and Recreation” will be in Indianapolis next week to shoot scenes at Lucas Oil Stadium. Set in fictional Pawnee, Ind., the show stars Amy Poehler in the role of city council member Knope.

Last December, cast members Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, Adam Scott, Chris Pratt, Rob Lowe and Jim O’Heir visited Lucas Oil Stadium and St. Elmo Steak House to shoot scenes for an episode titled “Two Parties.”

Next week’s entourage includes Poehler, Ansari, Scott, Offerman, O’Heir and the singularly named Retta. According to a tweet by WTHR-13 meteorologist Nicole Misencik, Monday’s episode of the station’s “Sunrise” show will feature an appearance by O’Heir.

In 2010, the sitcom shot scenes at the Indiana Statehouse, but no cast members were present.

“Parks and Recreation” airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays on WTHR-13. The sixth season of the show began on Sept. 26 with an 60-minute episode centered on a trip to London.
