Nerlens Noel's hair is awesome. Please keep that.

Maryland's "Brooklyn Dodgers" inspired uniforms look really nice. I like those a lot.

No I think Willy will be a better NBA player depending on work ethic. His poential is limitless IMO he just needs to work at it. But I have a man crush on him and Goodwin for the nba.

Shabazz Muhammed ineligible, improper benefits. Had his visits to Duke and UNC paid for.

Syracuse looks like a defensive juggernaut. They are so long. Their 2-3 can extend so much because of their ability to protect the rim.

Is this for the whole season? Or is it still "indefinite"?Talk about a devastating blow to UCLA's program

Butler plays at Xavier at 4:00 EST. That's a pretty big game this early in the year.

If Butler is competitive (I expect Xavier to win relatively easily) it'll say a lot about their potential later this year. While this can be said of most teams, Butler should be much, much better come February than they are in November.

Why are Butler and Xavier playing so early? Also, why is this not on a weekend? Seems it would get better viewership then even going against football, but I just want to be able to watch

They're playing it so early in the season because Butler is playing in Maui (and I'm going, well only to the Marquette game but it's a good excuse to go to Hawaii, which has me incredibly excited) which takes up a healthy portion of their non-conference schedule. In the past they've normally played later in the month on a Saturday but the combination of the added conference game between the two schools later in the year, Butler going to Hawaii, ESPN having the made-for-tv tip-off marathon, and both schools not wanting to lose the income from a relatively big rivalry game made this the only real solution. Also, depsite both schools being in the A-10, it is technically a non-conference game.

    BRushWithDeath just had some fun.

Rotnei Clarke just hit a wild shot for the win against Marquette. Just a terrible looking runner with the Marquette guy all over him lol. Nothing's a bad look for Clarke I suppose.

Texas lost to Chaminade 86-73 in Maui. And Rick Barnes remains the most overrated coach in the country.

It's a good thing they have such a low bar for coaches at Texas or else they'd just run roughshod over basically everybody if they wanted in football and hoops.

So...Chaminade wins on the 30th anniversary of their upset over Virgina.

Also, with UCLA going down to a G'Town team that barely beat Liberty and Duquesne and more specifically with a really bad Illinois team currently housing USC in Maui can we say that the Pac12 is still probably not very good? G'Town played well and I think they could give the Hoosiers trouble, but UCLA was supposed to be more talented than that, of course Howland has maybe just lost his touch that much, but Illinous beating anyone by 31 in the first half is pretty shocking and they are up 49-18 on USC right now.

These Maui games have been boring after the Butler/Maquette showdonw.

I'm willing to cut UCLA a little slack, they're really young, Shabazz's first game and all that. And Georgetown's had some close games yeah, but not like they're ****ing Bucknell on your home floor. They're a solid team that'll be in the tourney that'll get a top half seed.

Agreed, but still....Illinois is really....really bad. They may only win 3 or 4 games in the B1G. And they are just beating the snot out of USC who had the shortest travel of anyone but Chaminade.

    Some thoughts on last night.

I know its early, and it was Miss St, but damn the Tarheels looked good. Their size and speed (as always) is going to give a lot of teams fits this year. I was pleasantly surprised with how well they played. Didnt have my expectations real high, but last night raised those quite a bit. Cant wait for the IU/UNC matchup next week. Should be telling for both squads.

IU looked slow and sloppy, but that will all work itself out. Every team underestimates a couple of matchuos each year. Once they get Perea and Jurkin things should start clicking better, and giving them oppourtunities to use the bench more effectively.

UNCs B squad AKA UCLA looks overrated. I said it before the season started. I know GTown is good but im not sold on 3 freshman being able to carry those guys. Out before the S16.

Tim Frazier tore his Achilles. That's awful news, both for him and Penn State.

Butler is just killing North Carolina. Very impressive showing.

and then they start falling apart. they have been playing the last minute and a half not to lose instead of to win.
they passed up some very easy score running clock and threw the ball away.
but hey- they kept it together and finished.
    big win for butler.
