Thread: this team is looking like a playoff team

  1. #1

Default this team is looking like a playoff team

Lets just start off by looking at their wins,
Minnesota- solid 5-4 team in the NFC
Green Bay- one of the top teams in the NFC at 6-3
Cleveland- bad team but not awful
Tennessee- not a very good team, but a road win in the NFL
Miami- solid team and a playoff contender in the AFC at 4-4

The Colts are leading the pack for the wild card spots at 5-3 and the Colts are really starting to come together, Vick Ballard looks like a good running back, Dwayne Allen is getting more involved and is another weapon, Donnie Avery and T.Y. Hilton are starting to take pressure off of Reggie Wayne, the O-line is getting better at run blocking, now to defense, Cassius Vaughn is a decent nickel corner (something we lacked at the beginning of the year), Vontae Davis was playing well before he got hurt, Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney are good when out there together, Pat Angerer and Jerrell Freeman are a good combo at MLB, this team WILL go to the playoffs, you heard me say it, the Colts will be in the playoffs

I'm peeking but will have an eye open if the Colts take care of Thursday's business.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

I will take this a step further. We look like a Super Bowl team! As long as the game is close in the 4th quarter, Luck can beat anybody

Well, let's not get carried away here. I'll go along with the Colts being in the upper half of the league at this point. Remember, quite a few of the wins could just as easily be losses. It's a great sign when a team can win the close ones - don't misunderstand - but let's see them do some damage on the road before crowning them.

The AFC is weak this year. Im not buying the current "contenders"

    Texans- don't trust Matt Schaub
New England- don't trust their defense
Denver-can't beat quality teams, and I don't trust Manning in the playoffs
Baltimore- not the same D minus Ray Lewis
    Pittsburgh- they truly scare me

Next year though if the Colts use that cap space, we could be close to Superbowl contenders

Not meaning to burst your bubble but you have two games with Houston, a game with Detroit and a game with the Patriots. That is four that I don't think the Colts can win so that brings their best possible record to 9-7 and that won't get it done. They have to win every other game and they will have their hands full on Thursday night if history is any indicator. But I am rooting for them and I root for them to face Denver and Peyton. That would be good theater to observe.... ...

I too am hoping for a first round match-up with Denver. I can't see us winning it all, so some good theater would be much enjoyed.

MJD is out Thursday night, that improves the Colts' chances significantly.

I find it laughable that you're still writing off games as "can't" win.

Houston is hardly a Juggernaut and Detroit is definitely winnable. Plus, you probably thought Green Bay was a can't win all the way up until the clock said 00:00.

Of course, this coming from a guy that had the Colts with 16 unwinnable games going into the season...why am i not surprised.

Hey, I am rooting for them. A soft game for Peyton (he might hand 500 yards passing on Indy) if they draw Denver... Good deal... ...

If the Colts win this Thursday, @ Jacksonville(remember that these Thursday night games are EXTREMELY in favor of the home team statistically speaking) then I think we make the playoffs this year. It will only take 9-10 wins to make the wild card this year.

4 more wins will make us a playoff team IMO. We can definitely do that.

Agree with you 100%. ANY game is up for grabs in the NFL. Happens every year. Is it my imagination or did that awful Colts team last year beat the Texans late in the season?

I am really impressed by Luck, but I don't think this team is making the playoffs. We are going to get hammered most of the way going forward.

I think making the playoffs is a very real possibility, though if they make it it'd be in large part because the AFC is so weak this year.

Not that I'd be complaining... Playoffs is playoffs and once you get there anything can happen. Remember '95?

This week's game should be a good indicator. Will they be able to come off of an emotional home win and beat a bad team that they should beat on the road? If they do, they're 6-3 with very winnable games against Tennessee, Kansas City and Buffalo still to be played.

Don't know how you can say that

We have the Jags, Bills, Titans, Lions and Chiefs still on our schedule. Only team we face with a better record than us is the texans. And depending on what their philosophy on resting starters is, we very well could run into them one of those games without getting their full effort.
