And everyone thought Lucas had sold out before........ BWHAHAHAHAHAHA

This is not going to end well.

Either that, or Disney is performing the GREATEST internet trolling of ALL TIME.

My first reaction besides, "Wow," was, "Great, another crappy Star Wars movie on the way."

But considering Lucas won't be writing and directing.... who knows. Maybe it'll be interesting. But it's still Disney... and they're already locked into a release date that basically demands they get going in a hurry if they want to do it right/well, so...... yeah, not optimistic.

    Curious, but not optimistic.

Do you suppose we could convince Disney to release a blu-ray copy of a restored edition of the original trilogy (not special edition), basically like they did for VHS in 1995 but of course with widescreen and modern picture/sound? I can dream...

Avengers 2 comes out that year, Joss has more important things to do
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

This is the greatest news ever. It's like Christmas morning. If Disney wants to put out Star Wars movies of the quality of the Marvel movies they have been making, I may cry tears of joy. If they want to get Pixar involved to do some other things, that's fantastic too.

I don't understand why anyone would be skeptical about this. Getting Star Wars out of the hands of Lucas is the only thing that can keep the franchise alive. Besides, Disney didn't spend 4 billion dollars on Marvel to run thier IP into the ground, and they didn't spend 4 billion on Star Wars to screw it up either.

I would have a lightsaber sticking out of my pants right now if it wasn't for episodes 1-3...

Star Wars has nowhere to go but up. The dialogue in Episodes 1-3 was just so stilted and pathetic. Time has passed Lucas by and this needed to be done. Its not like Disney can make things any worse. So I'm more than cool with it!

If they do it, it def needs to be 20 years after the events of the last movie and focus on the main character's children. Hopefully they get most to at least do some cameos. The only one I think that needs to have a bit of a larger role is Hamill.

However, doing the Old Republic would be pretty fantastic.

as far as i'm concerned, this franchise is already dead and has been since the prequels. i don't care if they want to go well beyond 7,8,9, and crank out another one every 2, 3 years after those either as i won't waste my money on any of them i should have learned my lesson after phantom menace and certainly after clones but for me- absolutely no more.
i loved red letter media's review of the prequels and how they took an in-depth review of that trilogy and give them the treatment they deserved. the reviews are FAR more entertaining than the bile lucas put out there.
