There's nothing in the CBA requiring you to guarantee any years of contracts besides the first two years of 1st roud draft pick rookie contracts and the 1st year of players contracts in sign and trades. Repeat: NOTHING. It's the team's fault, not the players. If they don't want to guarantee contracts, don't guarantee them./QUOTE]

What players of any worth are going to sign contracts with NO guaranteed years? The players hold the trump card not the teams.

Walsh apparently couldn't even get Green to sign a contract that wasn't fully guaranteed.

Can you imagine Redick and Hansbrough on the same team? Arguably two of the most despised players (by fans) in NCAA history. That would be great.
Can you imagine having a player that can finally hit a jumper? can you imagine finally having somebody that can move without the ball and can also create for others? he would be nice.

I don't understand why they do it in the NFL, but they do. And, from what I understand, there's nothing in the NFL CBA requiring players to sign players to non-guaranteed contracts.

    Nice.

Some numbers of note in the East this week:

4: Indiana's Paul George, selected to his first All-Star Game on Thursday, has increased his scoring average by more than four points in each of the past two seasons, jumping from 7.8 ppg in 2010-11 to 12.1 ppg in 2011-12 ... and now to 17.3 ppg this season. The only other players whose scoring averages have spiked by at least four points in each of the past two seasons are Houston's James Harden (from 12.2 ppg in 2010-11 to 16.8 ppg to 2011-12 and 25.8 ppg this season) and New Orleans' Greivis Vasquez (3.6 ppg in 2010-11 to 8.9 ppg in 2011-12 to 14.3 ppg this season).

My immediate, quasi-joke retort for this is: Yes, I can. We had him. He even went to Duke.

And he'll still be prob playing for his 4th team in 5 yrs next season
Two of his plays from that game showed a lot. The first was when he got in the lane and drew contact from Parker and still passed instead of shooting. Ended up being an empty possession instead of free throws. The second was when he had Parker backpedaling on the break and Parker stole the ball from him and turned it around for 2 at the other end. They never showed the steal again, but it was one of the best I have seen. DC just was bad on those two.

The Boston Celtics have held exploratory trade talks with the Memphis Grizzlies on Rudy Gay.

More than one team has speculated that a three-way trade that would send Pau Gasol to the Celtics, Paul Pierce to the Grizzlies and Rudy Gay to the Lakers makes "some sense".

Pierce's $15.3 million salary for next season is guaranteed for only $5 million, which would make his contract tradable.

I have been saying for a long time that Mike Dunleavy was a good player before the injury(I even voted for the guy to be an all star) he became Suckleavy after the injury, not only but that his attitude sucked making him more hateable around here.

The score may not reflect it but the Wiz are putting it on the Bulls.

    Great shot by Irving.

The Knicks and the Bulls lost. Brooklyn is losing in Houston as well. Let's hope that we're able to take advantage of it.
Tonight, all flags must burn, in place of steeples.
Autonomy must return into the hands of the people.

Batum with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists = His second triple-double of the week.

I always felt Duns was a good team player. Fighting the knee problem AND spending 3 years with JOB, who never heard of a good passer or screener, may have taken a personal toll on him. He was drafted too high coming out of Duke and tried too hard to live up to it, IMO.

Ersan Illyasova is beginning to get his game back. In the last 4 games, he's averaging 25.5/12.2/2. He's beginning to earn the contract Milwaukee gave him this past summer.

Pretty much proves that the clown they had as a coach didn't know wtf he was doing, Peter Vecsey pretty much said that their coach was looking to get fired and that was one of the ways to get fired.
