Clips are good; OKC is better. I'd sure love to acquire Eric Bledsoe, though.

If Miami gets Gasol then this season is over (especially if they get him for 5 scrubs). He would be a great fit with Lebron and Wade IMO. D'Antoni is just a moron.

I don't think money wins out in this case. He will get a max deal where ever he goes. One extra year on the deal is not going to matter if he has a chance to join a great team. He has been to the finals as the star of his team. I think most players who get to that point want nothing more than to get back to that level.
Then why did he want to get traded to Brooklyn SOOOO much but didn't just sign there when he could have opted out? He wanted to go to a gutted team.

I still don't get the complaining about D'Antoni with the Lakers, Mannix, Steven A, everybody is complaining about the guy, they keep saying that Phill made it work with Bynum/Gasol but forget to mention that Bynum is a different type of center, they also forget to mention that Phill got kicked out of the first round by Dallas 3 years ago.

Dwight's not healthy. I don't know if he ever will be. He's one of the least skilled dominant players I can ever remember, now his lower back is gone and he actually has to play basketball and this is what's left. This isn't some "oh you found the secret!" opinion, people have known he didn't really have any actual skills for a long time. Then he had lower back surgery and people just thought he'd be the same guy after.

He is not putting Pau in a position to succeed. Pau is still one of the most skilled big men in the NBA, he can score, rebound and pass at a very high level and D'antoni is playing him between the free throw and 3 point line pretty much constantly

I believe that if it was D'Antoni's choice Dhoward would be the one getting benched, Gasol is the perfect center for his system, the only problem is that I'm pretty sure the Lakers front office is telling him not to make little baby Dwight Howard mad because he is not going to stay if he does that.

I wonder if Miami was willing to take on Howard, Howard for Bosh and other pieces?

I don't see that happening. Ignoring that I don't see the Lakers helping Miami get Howard....would Bosh and Gasol be a good fit together given D'Antoni's system?

    Interesting

    matt (indy)

Trade rumors have been swirling over Granger, but what about Hibbert? Might be a case of buyer's remorse, but I'd like to move his contract.
    Chad Ford (1:25 PM)

Doubt the Pacers move Hibbert. One, it's hard to find 7-foot-2 big men who can lock down the paint the way he does. He's a big reason the Pacers are the best defensive team in the league this year. Two, his contract will make him very tough to trade right now. Yes, the Pacers overpaid, but remember, they were just coming in to match an offer. If they had lost him and gotten nothing in return, they wouldn't be where they are right now in the standings. As for Granger, he's getting assurances that the team has no intention of trading him. But if the right scenario comes along that lands the Pacers a young talented power forward or point guard, I think there's a good chance he's gone by the deadline.

There have been plenty of other 7-footer combinations that have succeded, Tim Duncan/David Robinson and Ralph Sampson/Hakeem Olajuwon. They are both paint heavy combinations. Lakers problem is they aren't creating enough space for themselves, and D'Antoni doesn't know how to do that, because he relies so much on that stretch 4.

Beyond this season, such as during the Offseason........all bets are off....but unless some no-brainer deal comes a long...I doubt that Granger is moved in February.

LeChoke.....well, at least he took the shot....Im surprised he didnt drive to the hoop to get his automatic Star Treatment trip to the free throw line.

The Raptors are just stupid......down by 1 or up by 1 in OT......what's their plan of attack? take 3pt attempts. Sure, they are 14-28 from the 3pt line....but why continue to take shots like this so late in the game?

And the Lakers are losing it again. A shake-up before the trade deadline is inevitable for that team.

well, Bosh doesn't mind hanging out on the perimeter and shooting J's, unlike Gasol at the 4.

Once again, that's not a contract fail. Corey Brewer has a similar contract (both in terms of legth and dollars). Are you going to say that Corey is better than Green?
Are you serious? Corey Brewer is miles ahead of Green.

Good observation Mr White. You'd think he was the second coming in terms of offensive skills going by some people (not on here).
Plus his "Hakeem" moves he learned from the master, got old and have been found out.
