Default NBA Season Thread - *Official*

Didn't see a thread already for the NBA season, which started yesterday. I already saw someone post a thread on a single player. To avoid multiple threads on 1 player, hopefully this can become the official NBA Season Thread.

    Please sticky!

    To get things kicked off....

AJ Price 2-13 shooting. Some things just never change. He's just not a good shooter. However, he also doesn't turn the ball over, so that is nice. 6 dimes 1TO.

Wizards with Crawford, Price and Wall...worst shooting backcourt in the league. I don't think Beal will be that much better in his rookie campaign. They are gonna be awful.

Also, I saw the score 93-70ish and thought that was the final score of the Heat-Celts game...and it was only the end of the 3rd. Damn, Heat are gonna be unstoppable. Seriously. Ray Allen off the bench and a healthy Rashard Lewis...seems so unfair.

I don't think the Lakers will go far if they don't get Nash more involved. 4 assists?? That's it, the team shot 50%! Give Nash the ball and let him go to work. Should also help keep Kobe fresh by not having to do everything himself. Nash will get Kobe and Howard plenty of shots.

Did not know this was the NBA Season thread. The title says Random Thoughts, so I figured this was like Peck's Odd Thoughts. A bit confused.

Can we sticky this thread then?

    It says nba random thoughts.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

I know it says random thoughts. Peck also has an Odd Thoughts. Did not make the connection that random thoughts meant season thread.

    Got it now though.

    Irving 11-20 FG... 3-6 3PT... 4-5 FT... 6 Reb... 3 Ast... 29 Pts

    Barbosa 6-8 FG... 3-3 3PT... 1-2 FT... 16 Pts

Irving is going to have a really good season this year if he stays healthy.

I don't see where the Pacers will miss Barbosa this year 1 iota.

I'll say it again and again, I want to see Andy Varejao in a Pacers uni! He was my X-factor player for the Pacers. Maybe with DWest being an expiring the Pacers can get Andy next season. One can only hope.

How many times did I show GG's game results in this thread last year? I'm looking forward to watching him play in a Pacers uni this season!

I was an advocate to getting DJ over DC before the Murphy/DC trade. Let's just hope he proves me right.

**** honestly makes me laugh. I mean out of the entire NBA, it is quite obvious, Wade is the biggest *******. I mean he's the type that really revels in his assholery. Like the song by Denis Leary, he probably sings that on the way to work every day.

The evil genius **** kind of works too. He's obviously a smart dude, and if there is an evil way to win versus using his talents, he'll choose the evil way every time. lol
Find me on the internets @mattiecolin

    Read it and weep:

When George Hill is above 15% usage we won 73.5% of games. Below 15% usage we won 61.9%

Wade's turned into a real dbag since the first title. He's like the "popular kid" in high school.

He even got the cooler kid who everyone liked to come be a dick with him. It really is a good analogy.

SOURCE: Warriors and PG Stephen Curry reached an agreement on a contract extension. Deal is for four years and...
$44 million. Curry is expected to sign before the opener
Supposed to be a flat 11 mil per. I know he's got the ankle and all, but given all the other crazy money handed out so far this seems like pretty good deal for the Warriors.

Yep, if Curry gets healthy that's a great deal. Even if he stays a bit gimpy it's probably movable

It's weird...at least for me, Wade's evergrowing dbag-ness has made me realize Lebron isn't as much of a douche as I thought he was. He's definitely not Wade level. I dislike Wade 10x more than I do Lebron.

not sure if it was posted, but Eric Gordon out indefinitely, although it kind of sounds like he was cleared by doctors and just ruled himself out

Earlier today, the New Orleans Hornets announced that all-star shooting guard Eric Gordon will be out indefinitely with a knee injury. Gordon has been dealing with pain in his right knee since having arthroscopic surgery on it back in February. Knees can be fickle, and the announcement that Gordon will be out for a prolonged period of time isn’t all that odd.

What is odd, however, is how Hornets coach Monty Williams and GM Dell Demps are talking about the injury. From the Times-Picayune:

“He’s processing some information right now and he doesn’t have any comment,” Demps said, without discussing just what that information was. “We don’t have any comment right now. We’re processing information and we will, at the appropriate time, give a statement.”

    […]

“I’ve checked with Doc,” Williams said, “but for him to explain to me what’s going on with his body and then have Eric feel a certain way doesn’t matter. You know what I’m saying? If Doc says one thing and the guy is feeling another, then you have to … what am I supposed to say?

What they seem to implying is that Gordon has been cleared to play by team doctors but is deciding to sit out for reasons that aren’t quite clear. Remember, Gordon was not shy about expressing his displeasure at the Hornets’ decision to match his offer sheet from the Suns. This could get ugly.

the NFL and NBA are so different with their player salaries it's nuts. Harden just got 80 mil of guaranteed money. Drew Brees got 60 mil.
