The Vasquez-for- Pondexter trade is one of the more underrated rapes in recent NBA history. 6'6" and third in the league in assists, to go along 15 points and 5 rebounds. Maybe the frontrunner for M.I.P.
Pondexter has been great for Memphis (unfortunately, he's injured) but Vasquez has been a beast. I'm not sure if he would put up that kind of numbers in Memphis, though.

I'd say that it's a trade that benefited both teams.

I suppose if beating up the knicks makes you a contender, the bulls are the favorite in the east this season.
The Bulls are legit. With a healthy Rose they would pose a threat to Miami.

In general, great defense and rebounding is always going to make you legit.

NBA.com is giving the Pacers some love. How unusual...

And the All-star Lakers are getting destroyed by OKC. Durant just dominates the competition right now.

    Saw that coming.

Another problem for the struggling Lakers is even though they are poor, record wise..they're still the Lakers..and they still have Kobe, Nash, Dwight, and Pau. So every time gets "up" for them.

Teams like Washington and the Bobcats can get a win easier in some ways because teams try to coast against them. They don't with the Lakers.

Good but not as clutch as Darren Collison, one leg shot at that last play would have done it.

too bad that Aldridge and Mathews decided to lay an egg. shot like 6 for 50 combined. Damian played like he always does but Portland has to defend better they don't trust each other on that end.

that's what happens when you play Luke Babbit over 20 minutes. I think that he thinks he gets paid by the 3pt attempt.

I cant wait for the Blazers to get a good bench so he doesn't play he pisses me off.

EDIT I said good I meant just bad not historically bad

Not really NBA related, but this seemed to be the best random thread to put it in:

Is it foolish to believe the Raptors or Pistons could still sneak up into the 8th seed?

Foolish no, but it's very difficult although still early. Besides, is Toronto and Philly better teams than Milwaukee or even Phily when and if they have Bynum back?

Well, according to ESPN.com, they have a better chance than the Lakers.

Just goes to show how bad the East is after about 5 or 6. The bottom of the east is so bad.

Watched the Pistons last night total domination of the Bucks. Also saw the end of the memphis game what a game, terrible defense by Gay at the end of regulation really lack of awareness almost cost them the game.

Hornets are playing good since EJ is back. I think Minney is done may be Kahn's last year , but maybe he has injury as excuses but I don't see how you can keep him.

I don't think you can fire Kahn at this point. Kirilenko signing is paying off brilliantly. Shved was a great find. Derrick Williams is finally beasting, he doesn't look like a bust anymore. Roy was a miss, but it's just a 1 year deal, smart gamble. They've managed to be ~.500 despite basically missing their two best players the whole year, since Love wasn't Love even when he played. The only real downside is the Love drama, but it seems that refusal to give him 5 years was in large part on their owner. Kahn seems to be turning the corner.

From what I've gathered, Adelman is basically calling the shots on roster decisions these days and could just absorb the GM role next year. Kahn's contract is up and I don't expect a renewal.

Anybody just see Jerryd Bayless's attempt to throw a alley-oop to Gay on a fast break? Hilarious.

We have a shot. We're two overtime losses away from a 9-game winning streak.

It all depends on how far Monroe carries us. I'd still say no as of now. Get back to me in a couple weeks after our next home stand.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.
