They could easily, the West is stacked, and they're old an injured.

However, if they do make the playoffs...it'll be because they got their chemistry worked out. And it would seriously suck to be the top seeded team that'll have to play them.

Will D'Antoni last through the whole season?
He has to. They cannot fire 2 coaches in a season. Right?

So the Rockets are now 21-14 with by far the youngest team in the league. That's impressive. And they can have max space this summer.

They are really starting to seem like a force to be reckoned with. But they will need to dump one of Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin come 14-15. It's when the poison pill kicks in.

That's if they want to bring in another max, of course.

The poison pill doesn't fully apply to them, it would've only applied to the Knicks. The Rockets will still have to pay 15 mil each to Asik and Lin that year, but it will only count as 8.3 mil each on their cap space.

it's how that rule is built. Same with Landry Fields/Toronto. If the original team matches, it counts as 5-5-15 or 5-5-9 or whatever was offered. If it's not matched, then it's all equally distributed.

maybe it's just me but Grevis Vasquez is Troy Murphy esk in terms of putting up empty stats. I just dont see him bringing a positive impact like the #s suggest. We will see if he gets overpaid or not soon but im guessing NOLA still wants a starting caliber pg.
Assists move the scoreboard and would seem to rarely be an empty stat, unless a large amount of them are coming in the 4th quarter when down by 20 points. They can be less meaningful when coming with a high number of turnovers, but that doesn't seem to be the case. They can also be inflated by a PG-dominant offense like Lin last year.

Rebounding is different because you can "hog" the boards from teammates, get cheap ones like missed FTs, rebound your own misses, etc.

I see Vasquez as pretty impressive.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I guess they had to make it more believable.

Lakers vs San Antonio tonight. Don't know about the Lakers this season. Of course they are in danger of losing the playoffs although the distance from the 8th position is not very far and it's still early. Thing is, they can't use the excuse of having Gasol and Howard out cause they sucked with them too.

Here's to hoping Chicago also loses today as this will solidify the Pacers' hold of the top in Central and 3rd in the East!

One of the refs in the Lakers/Spurs game just told the coaches that he's stalling for the TV timeout.
