You brought up DC's "unclutchness", though. And it backfired baaaadly
No really, is not like Rick is going to start to call a one handed one leg shot as his last second play from now on, just because DC made a lucky shot doesn't make him clutch because we all know he is not.

Im with vnzla on this one, DC threw that up and started to walk the other way. That's like one of those shots that you throw behind your head as your leaving the playground.
It's an incredibly lucky shot, I agree.

But that doesn't change the fact that it was a game-tying buzzer beat 3 that sent the game to overtime. Therefore, it is a clutch shot by definition.

Plus, DC's overall play (32 points on 13/2 shooting) was the reason that the Mavs were in the game.

    Here's what we know:

    1) DC had a great game. 32 points on 13/22 shooting, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.

    2) DC hit a very lucky shot that sent the game to OT.

Did you give him any credit at all for his performance tonight? No. You just said that he was unclutch. And he went on to sent the game to OT.

Meanwhile, Mayo had at least 3 crucial turnovers and went 1/3 from the FT line in a crucial point of OT as well.

But are you going to say anything about Mayo's performance? No.

You are still overreacting and I don't even know why I keep talking to you, I said "stupid Mayo" I guess that for you to be happy I would need to open a thread to explain why I said "stupid Mayo".

Either way Mayo is not the former Pacer so I don't even know why you are upset because somebody is talking about a former Pacer.

DC is such anticlutch that is not even funny, he should never play under five minutes.
Are those two quotes really the same thing?

That's not the former Pacers thread. That's the Random Thoughts thread. Therefore, we're allowed to praise or criticize any player around the league that we like.

I'm not upset because you're talking about DC. I'm not upset in general. I just found your bad timing regarding DC's "clutchness" hilarious.

Yes you are upset, if I was as sensitive as you I'll be doing the same bs you are doing when you are criticizing Mayo but I'm not doing it because I don't give a damn, either way I'm done with this stupid conversation good night.

Oh, there's no question it was a garbage shot--but the fact remains that he made it. It was a big three that sent the game into overtime. If you want to deduct points because there was a certain amount of luck to hitting it, then you have to go back and do that for every "clutch" shot ever made.

Of course you are going to show up the night DC hits some crazy shot and scores a lot, so predictable.
I don't give a **** about DC anymore. He's gone, not a Pacer, and this is the first I have seen of him this year. I prefer George Hill and don't want DC back. But give credit where credit is due--he nailed a huge shot. End of story.

I vote non-clutch. Ya it sent the game to OT, but it had nothing to do with clutch-ness. He just threw it up there.

    To summarize:

Anytime a player is traded or is not re signed, he must be hated forever, because the alternative would be admitting your team made a mistake in letting him go....

It's ok to admit he had a good game, hit a clutch shot and not like him. I don't like him either.

That would be the case if DC was liked in that forum. But he was heavily disliked here. Only a few of us liked him / still like him.

That was about giving a player credit when credit is due. That's all there is to it.

Btw, Drummond had a great game yesterday. How are things in Pistons land?

    12.8 PPG, 13 RPG, 2.8 BPG and 1.5 SPG.

Against the Hawks he played 36 actual minutes. His production?

    16 points, 12 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals.

He seems legit. He sucks at FTs but that's an issue of a lot of Centers and can be improved if a player puts up some work.

The astonishing thing isn't his per-36 stats. It's the fact he's as productive as he is and he has absolutely no idea what he's doing yet.

He's getting these number on sheer talent and hustle. He works his *** off to make up for his mistakes, which he makes just about every other possession.

He sucked in the Atlanta game. He looked totally lost most of the time. They left him in there because he was part of the group that erased a 22-point lead in the last 6 minutes, and he basically walked into 16 and 12.

Drummond is like a puppy. A 6'11" 275lb puppy. He knows that he doesn't understand where to be at all times, so he tries to make up for it by out-working everyone. See ball, attack ball.

I understand they're tanking this year so they won't run them out there for a while but a frountcourt of Monroe and Drummond seems so incredibly perfect, in every way really, that it is going to be scary in a couple of years.

He reminds me of those Centers that you create in NBA 2K My Player mode that just hover around the lane to get boards and points in order to get a good teammate score and improve their stats

By the way, how many times did you successfully ran that Stuckey to Andre oop during the final minutes?

Stuckey to Dre, Bynum to Dre, the popcorn vendor to Dre...he doesn't even have a quality passing PG on the roster, but he makes every lob look like a good one.

The funniest part is, Drummond has his own NBA2K move where if he's not involved in a play, he'll squat out of bounds under the basket to avoid a 3-second violation, and when a shot goes up or a play is made at the rim, he'll quickly jump back in bounds to get involved. He's so big and quick that he actually pulls it off more often than not.

Is it true that in real life NBA, going out of bounds like that doesn't stop a 3 second count? I thought I heard or read that.
