Deron Williams has been killing it since the all-star break, culminating in last nights 11 point three pointer performance.

He's now brought his shooting up to .56TS% on the season, which is impressive considering how poorly he shot to start the season. Still doesn't seem to be the same ol' Deron, but it looks like finally he may be getting back to form.

There is a 1.5 game difference between the 4th to 7th seeds in the East.... a lot of room for movement in the seedings in the East. The Celtics are peaking at the right time.

If they play like they did against the Pacers in the last game where they just kept on taking midrange jumpshots....I won't be as concerned.
Dude that is what this Celtics team excels at. Mid Range Jumpers! KG, Pierce, Bass, Bradley, Terry, Lee. All really solid Mid-range games. Offensively they look really solid going into the playoffs. They have great execution. They will prove it difficult for Hibbert to have a real impact defensively in that series if it comes to fruition.

This season has really made me think differently about Doc Rivers as a coach.

I think Kobe's individual year does have a lot to do with playing with Nash. Kobe's never gotten the opportunity to play with a talented point guard. As much as the guards have had trouble playing with the post players, I think Kobe and Nash actually play very well with each other, and I think they enjoy playing with each other.

Have you watched Nash this year? He isn't very good anymore. I wouldn't call him a talented pg anymore.

I agree..we have seen that the Celtics are like the Spurs and Bulls....they are a "System Team"...meaning they are able to execute their offense effectively even if they lose key Players.

In a 7 game series....at some point, I'd hope that the defense could adjust and their shots won't keep on falling.

He's still considerably more talented than any point guard Kobe has ever played with.

His court vision is also still there..which is the big thing.

I don't know if I'd consider him untalented--he's still effective considering he's basically playing off-the-ball at this point. To be averaging 50-40-90 shooting percentages and almost 7 assists (playing next to Kobe) at 39 years old is an impressive feat.

Derrick Rose did not show up for practice today. Sources say management is putting pressure on him to play. Feels he's not mentally ready

That team is not going to go anywhere until it treats its players like people rather than like parts on a machine.

Injuries happen, but the way and time you take to treat the injury often times determines the outcome.

If the guy's not ready, he's not ready. He's coming off a major injury.
Their doctors may want to try the patient centered approach rather than the doctor/team centered approach.

This isn't even mentioning the ridiculous minutes Thibs plays some of those players.

I'm glad the Pacers take how the players feel into consideration. This has been true about Danny and the other countless injuries that happen during the year. Danny doesn't feel comfortable playing, he doesn't play. End of story.

He isn't 2004 Nash or even 2010 Nash, but he's still a pretty solid player. 12 PPG/7 APG/ 50 FG%/90 FT%/44 3PFG% isn't too shabby for a soon-to-be 39 year old player. Sure he isn't a good defender, but it's not like he ever lit up the defensive end in Phoenix either. As mentioned above, he's certainly better than any PG that Mamba has played with.

Right. I think in their older age/amount of seasons, they both help each other out.

Kobe can trust Nash to hit a big shot (although he could with Fisher), to create shots for others if Kobe needs a break on offense, to make the correct reads when Kobe makes a move off the ball. Kobe's actually pretty good at playing off the ball, and this is really the first time he's gotten to do it a little bit.

And for Nash, Kobe takes pressure off of Nash offensively. And he's another player that can create shots for others. From what I've read, although I've jokingly said that it must annoy Phil that it took D'Antoni a couple of months to get Kobe to pass, it was actually Nash that's gotten Kobe to pass. And it was out of a "no one else on this team can score without help, so I need you to get them shots too" sort of plea.

There's also just an obvious bit of teammate chemistry there. And the funny thing is, I don't know if it would have worked the same way if they were younger. And as much as Kobe being healthy is an obvious reason that he's having a great season, I think playing with a player like Nash has helped him too.

You're one of the folks talking abotu how we shouldn't be surprised about Danny's knee injury and you're surprised that Amare is going down with another knee problem? I mean c'mon!

Disagree, would take young Fish over this version of Nash any day.

Uh, no that's not how a long- term Pacers fan says it.

Instead, we say "yuk yuk yuk. Knicks are hurting."

Not that I wish injuries on any player. I just like to see the Knicks at their worst. Just one of those teams that Pacers fans love to hate.
