Current Kevin Durant may be the best scorer I've ever seen. To average 30 a night with those shooting percentages is almost surreal. That would tear me apart inside if I was a Blazer fan. It would be like the Colts taking Leaf over Manning.
Yup. He has to be the greatest scorer ever. He's like Larry Bird only taller, longer, more athletic and a better shooter. (Bird was obviously a better passer and rebounder though)

Jose Calderon is the starting point guard. Knight moves to the 2, Bynum can come off the bench, and stuckey can go to hell.

Frank s actually toying with the idea of starting Calderon tomorrow night, with zero practice time.

For the record, stuckey is the guy we are trying to deal.
" Stuckey can go to hell" you are killing me.

    9. A Potentially Useful Indiana Lineup - Indiana played most of the fourth quarter of its wild overtime loss to Utah on Saturday with a lineup of D.J. Augustin–George Hill–Paul George–David West–Roy Hibbert — their starting lineup, only with Augustin in place of Lance Stephenson. The lineup was plus-7 in about 7:45 of time in that game, and if Augustin can provide just average long-range shooting, this group could work well. But Frank Vogel had played this five-man unit just 13 minutes all season prior to that Utah game, in part because Augustin struggled so badly out of the gate and briefly lost his rotation spot to Ben Hansbrough. Augustin has found his footing from deep over the last month, and George Hill can defend almost any shooting guard in the league. With Indiana searching for offense, this is one lineup Vogel might want to revisit.

    Mayo 25/5/6

    Bayless 23/3/6

    Marion 18/17/1

D Lee 15/20/9... 1 ast short of a trip dub.

    Jack 13/4/9

    DC 6/2/7

    Perry Jones sighting 2/2

Biedrins 2/0... I was able to see him score 1 of his dozen or so baskets for the season! I watched him play, excuse me going thru the motions. As I watchhed a 7' center who use to be a double double player who wouldn't play in the paint, but to the side of the paint looking like he didn't want to be where he could get a reb. There are players in the NBA who would love to have his opportunity to play for a good team like GS. To me he looks like he'd rather be elsewhere, but is just going to collect a paycheck for the next 2 1/2 years of over 20 mil thanks to a guaranteed contract.

It looks like Fishers two weeks play this year with the Mavericks was done for him to stay on the players union.

This happens more than we probably realize, I'm sure Mo Evans and Roger Mason stuck around as long as they did because of their roles in the union too.

FWIW, Calderon has been named the starting pg for when his Work visa comes through Sunday, and they intend to re-sign him long term.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Good deal for Detroit, bad deal for Calderon, I think he needs to go to a team that is not in rebuilding mode.

He can leave this summer if he wants, but if they're that committed to him, and theyre teaming him with Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond? I'm not sure what's not to love about that from his perspective. He can get 4-5 assists a game doing nothing by throwing lobs.

When the trade was first announced I thought Detroit was just throwing crap against a wall. But it looks like they really wanted Calderon, so the trade really ends up looking pretty good for them as long as he produces. They clear some cap space, get the PG they wanted, move Knight over to SG, and now have a semi-decent trade piece to dangle (Stuckey) to bring back more assets. I'm sure for Pistons fans it sucks to see Prince go, but that's part of the business. Daye had potential but still hadn't really done much with it. Good trade for Detroit.

I'm not sad to see prince go any more than I was sad to see Rasheed go. It was just his time. He simply didn't fit in here anymore.

I'd gladly offer Calderon what the pacers gave George hill. I think that much of his floor leadership abilities, even with his poor defense.

Jared Sullinger out or the year with back surgery

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--ce...204332603.html

Sullinger, an All-American out of Ohio State, dropped out of the lottery and landed with the Celtics with the 21st pick in the June NBA draft after predraft medical examinations raised questions about the long-term durability of his back.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

From the $ side, I could see Calderon getting pretty much the same as Hill got. But as far as years, I think it would be foolish to give him more than 3 years. Calderon turns 32 in September.

Steve Nash was 31 by the end of his first season back in Phoenix. He was still having money thrown at him last summer at 38.I just don't care a lot about age with point guards that don't rely on athleticism.

I'd give him 4 years, 5th year team option. I really don't see him declining anytime soon.

I think Vnzla meant time with a winning team. Calderon can literally play with anyone, he's a damn good floor general/passer (much like Dre Miller)

I think he could easily take a team like the Jazz or Hawks and put them over the top. No they wouldn't be contenders, but they would be fighting for home court in the playoff race. Both teams could hide him defensively as well.

Or place him in a 6th man role that gets starters minutes with a scoring PG (Chicago--when Rose comes back, or San Antonio)

All in all, he gets to be a starter in the league again and probably helps push Detroit's development up a half season.

If he wants to go ring chasing for a discount backup job, obviously we can't compete with that.

I'm saying he's in a position to have a career here, if he still wants one. We can pay him, offer him a starting job, and we have two big men he will love playing with.

If he can get the ball to Drummond and Monroe, we will be a winning team again. It's not rocket science. He isn't coming to a team with no talent.

Thinking about it I don't think Detroit is that bad after all, Calderon, Knight, X player, Monroe and Drummond? no bad, who are they going to try to get next year to fill the small forward position by the way?
