    Chris Paul and Blake Griffin?
Nope. Blake is still largely a product of CP3's greatness. Just last 5 minutes of a game, the spacing and ball handling that Pierce and KG give each other is really fantastic. Even Wade and Lebron don't play off each other that well.

That was always what was so beautiful about the Boston Big 3. From a bball stand point, they complimented each other so well.

The Boston Big 3 in their heyday played "team basketball" better than anyone I've ever seen. Complete unselfishness.

That team would have won back to back rings if KG didn't get hurt in 09. They were the best team in the NBA that year before he went down.

They would have won in '10 too if Perkins didn't get injured in Game 6.

That level of unselfishness and team basketball is what Frank Vogel is trying to get out of this team, and he's starting to get there. If we ever consistently clean up the turnovers, I think we're there.

They are as dangerous as any team in the NBA in the last 5 minutes of a close game. I agree, I don't see them mounting any large comebacks or scoring quickly if they are down 10, but if the game is tied with 5 to go. Pierce and KG know their sets maybe better than any pair of players this side of Parker and Duncan.
Don't forget Manu, he has been their closer and clutch player in a long time.

I'm kind of hoping they fire him.

It's his MO. "Turnaround" a team, but never get much better than average. Get fired because his style is so intense it doesn't last.

On another note, Chicago just lost to Cleveland at home, dropping them to 15-14 on the season. Sheesh.

Lebron had 40 points, 16 assists, and 8 boards. No one's ever done that before.

That game was double overtime.....give LeDecision what boils down to 5 QTRs and I'm not surprised he put up those numbers.

Sure, but there's been plenty of double OT games in NBA history. He's still the first guy to do it. I'm not saying it's some astounding resume accomplishment or anything, but still, literally no one's ever done that.

Sarcastic Cuban Fires Shots at Fisher (Jeff Caplan / NBA.com)

DALLAS — On Derek Fisher‘s first day of practice with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban didn’t miss an opportunity to fire a few shots at his former short-time employee.

Fisher signed a contract with the Mavs in late November when no other teams showed interest and three weeks later Fisher asked Dallas to release him so he could return to his family in Los Angeles. On Monday, Fisher, the NBPA president, resurfaced, signing a deal with the title-contending Thunder, the team he also joined late last season.

“Look, I understand, completely,” Cuban said Tuesday prior to the Mavs’ home game against Milwaukee. “From the time Derek was here to him signing with OKC, his kids are older, so they can deal with things better. So I understand him having more comfort in being away from them.”

In my ESPN fantasy league, he gave 96.8 points. No one has ever come close

They should have tanked for McLemore or Bazz. I'm glad they didn't though.

I'm sure Oscar did it a time or two. Guy averaged 30pts 12.5rebs and 11.4assists for the season. Averaged a triple double through the first 5 seasons of his NBA career.
I can't find any actual box scores from individual games, but with averages like that there's got to be a few where all three were clicking.

    EDIT: Wilt also had a Triple 20. 22pts 25rebs 21assists.

Grant Hill had a double-OT game against the Lakers of 35, 15 and 14. I'd still take that performance over anything regular season LeBron has done.

Correct, 3 times in that one year alone

On February 13, 1962: Oscar had 42 points, 18 assists, and 15 rebounds in a 152-132 win over Wilt's Philly Warriors
    On November 10, 1961 he 40 points, 16 assists, and 15 rebounds
On Christmas Day 1961 he had 40-17-12

I found Oscar's gamelog for his career, and even in that one season alone he had these games of 40+ points, listed as pts-assists-rebounds:

    40-16-15
    49-7-22
    40-17-12
    47-8-12
    42-18-15
    40-10-14
    41-6-18
    41-6-15

plus he had a 36-13-14 game with 13 steals!

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)
