I don't know; if Smith is going to command the max and there aren't any better offers, Bargs + Ross wouldn't be a terrible return. I know Bargs sucks, but I'd do the deal mainly for Ross whose potential I like. And who knows, maybe Bargs would be a rejuvenated by a trade and could end up being a decent fit next to Horford with his shooting ability.

Yep, i think Ross is a nice return. If you know Smith will definitely leave. The guy was suspended for conduct detrimental, we just don't know how bad it is.

Bargnani's contract is rather yuck. Then again, at this point it's just 2 years and he merely has an injured shoulder. It's not a blown knee or such. When healthy he's a very solid 6th man. If he was paid 7-8 mil and healthy, it'd be nice. 10-11 mil is too much but not exactly deadly.
But the main return would be Ross. And they'd still have loads of cap space.

It seems it was a fake tweet, but it looked believable.

I forgot to mention this morning that since Earl Clark has began starting the last 11 games for the Lakers he is averaging 10.5/8.7. He was drafted the next player after Hansbro. I can't say I ever felt he would amount to much, but he's doing well with the Lakers.

I always thought he had the talent but was a bit to raw when he got into the league, I remember watching him on the pre-drafts workouts and he looked good on everything, really thought he was going to flourish in Phoenix but I guess he decided to do it in LA, good for him though.

I remember Nash saying how hard of a worker he was when he got traded to Orlando.

Thad Young injured his knee, looked to be in some pain. They say a grade 2 sprain, over at rotoworld.

"Before that [the officials] tell us if you have a problem with them, come talk to them. They give us permission to do that. I tried to wait until the play was over. I waited until the play stopped. I went up to the ref. He kept telling me, 'Don't talk to me, don't talk to me, I don't want to talk to you.' So I waited until halftime. He said the same thing. He was saying, 'Don't talk to me.' So my response was, 'You don't have to act like an effing female.' I shouldn't have said that. That's about it."
This dude man. Billion dollar talent, ten cent brain. He doesn't seem like a scumbag or anything, just a flat out child really. I hope he gets a teammate or franchise that'll get through to him.

Since that 3-7 start that had us all flipping out we're 26-12. If they'd kept that up all year we'd basically have the same record as the Heat. Fun with numbers!

Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up with a career arc like Zach Randolph's. Which isn't all that bad, considering. And ZBo seemed to have been a much bigger headcase, which is a point in Cousins' favor.

The Rockets and Warriors have combined to score as many points in the first half as the Sixers and Magic did all game last night. 77-62 Houston at half. Amazing game.

Young Randolph was *nowhere* as bad as Cousins is.

@RoyceWebb: RT @WindhorstESPN: If Gasol did indeed tear his plantar fascia, as it seems he's afraid of, would likely end trade talk. At least for now.

It looks like he is probably out for the season.

Really puts the Lakers in a bind if Gasol is indeed out and Howard is day to day for a while. They may have to consider trading Dwight for some fully healthy pieces from Brooklyn or Dallas to fill the gap. If they somehow manage to lose Howard and Gasol to injury they'll be in a lot of trouble, add in if Howard leaves after the season, they'll be stuck for a while until another team with an unhappy superstar trades with Lakers.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I'm happy for him that he got that explosion and that the Nuggets stole the game at the end.

Heck all the Lakers have to do is tank for a year and they would be pretty much Guaranteed the #1 pick. Instead they just want to spend spend spend and try to plug holes with squares.
