Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.
I don't really buy the rumor that Atlanta would trade Smith. Seems more likely that they'll double down and try to build around him (and hopefully Dwight) in the offseason. If Smoove and Larry Drew don't get along, I don't doubt that the Hawks will sack the coach first.
I don't know if everyone saw this, but this is a pretty good read. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/...an-royce-white
He just doesn't have a firm grasp on how the world works or even how the world is supposed to work.
End of an era
What's kind of sad is that Calderon, Gay and Prince were all the longest-tenured members of their respective teams.
Am I the only one who think the Grizzlies are a better team after trading gay for what they got?
I meant that they were the longest-tenured on the roster when the trade occurred. If would be much sadder if they were the longest-tenured of all-time.
Also, don't knock Mo Pete. He was involved in one of the best Wizards low-lights of all-time:
With those gifs, when should we expect the NBA to fine those three teams? Obviously that guy purchased tickets to see Prince, and there wasn't enough time to adequately notify him of the change. All about your product, right?
Beasley 27/6/1-5 Stl
Josh Smith 20/11/3- 3 Stl
Jimmy Butler 18/6... trivia.. Butler was in the Pacers last workout b4 011 draft.
Robin Lopez 15/9/1- 1 STl 4 BS
Okafor 15/17/2- 2 BS
World Peace 15/5
Dalembert 14/13.. in 24 min.
Gortat 14/12/3... one of the best contracts in the NBA.
Deng 12/13/5... 1st game back from injury.
Asik 10/18/1- 1 BS 1STL
Pacers 56 Reb
Toronto 52 Reb
Knicks 30 Ast
By the way, I got reminded of this.. Raptors-Grizzlies
Personally, I think Prince on his own as an upgrade over Gay (except in scoring volume)... so the fact that the Grizzlies got freaking Ed Davis in the deal makes it a fleecing.
This trade was indescribably stupid for the Raptors.
Bench: Arthur, Davis, Bayless.
They're definitely still going to be an elite defensive/inside team. They still need a shooter BAD but I don't think they'll fall off as much as some ppl think. What they lose in Gay's individual ISO's, they gain in Prince knowing his role. I think Conley will be the biggest key of how good this team will be, The ball will be in his hands, especially down the stretch. Can he make enough plays offensively within the half court remains to be seen.
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/86...itting-players"The result here is dictated by the totality of the facts in this case," Stern said in a statement. "The Spurs decided to make four of their top players unavailable for an early season game that was the team's only regular-season visit to Miami. The team also did this without informing the Heat, the media, or the league office in a timely way. Under these circumstances, I have concluded that the Spurs did a disservice to the league and our fans."
That's what I'm sarcastically getting at. The guy who showed up to see Prince had the rug pulled out from under him.
