    What about Dwight for Smith?
I think that the Lakers want Dwight to be the future of the franchise. Add in that the Lakers want to give LeDecision more incentive to come to LaLaLand in a few years.

I don't really buy the rumor that Atlanta would trade Smith. Seems more likely that they'll double down and try to build around him (and hopefully Dwight) in the offseason. If Smoove and Larry Drew don't get along, I don't doubt that the Hawks will sack the coach first.

There's so many things wrong with this guy. He thinks he is some righteous man paving the way for people with disabilities to be able to find a place in the NBA. But really all he is doing is rejecting the reasonable allowances the Rockets have made to comply with regulation and ruining the future of anybody in the future who wants to try. And that's just the last part of the article. In the first half he's basically just spewing garbage.

He just doesn't have a firm grasp on how the world works or even how the world is supposed to work.

Excellent article indeed. Chuck did a good job in not being biased like most other journalists.

What's kind of sad is that Calderon, Gay and Prince were all the longest-tenured members of their respective teams.

Calderon played the 2nd most games in Raptors history, after the immortal Morris Peterson

Am I the only one who think the Grizzlies are a better team after trading gay for what they got?

No. It was a great trade for everyone but Toronto, who it's pretty awful for.

I meant that they were the longest-tenured on the roster when the trade occurred. If would be much sadder if they were the longest-tenured of all-time.

Also, don't knock Mo Pete. He was involved in one of the best Wizards low-lights of all-time:

With those gifs, when should we expect the NBA to fine those three teams? Obviously that guy purchased tickets to see Prince, and there wasn't enough time to adequately notify him of the change. All about your product, right?

Benchwise yes, but I don't see Prince even coming close to replacing Gay.

The difference being this and the Spurs game is that the Pistons players didn't play because they were no longer on the team.

Not when they have $10M tied up in Terry/Lee for the next two years. I think the Cs would be wiser to try for Calderon (even if KG was a total to him a couple of years ago).

Personally, I think Prince on his own as an upgrade over Gay (except in scoring volume)... so the fact that the Grizzlies got freaking Ed Davis in the deal makes it a fleecing.

This trade was indescribably stupid for the Raptors.

I'm starting to agree with this, I think it depends of how good Davis would be, it looks to me like he has the potential to be really good in the future and probably be able to replace Zbo, maybe Memphis gets a similar deal than the Pacers when they got JO?

    Conley, Allen, Prince, Z-Bo, Gasol

    Bench: Arthur, Davis, Bayless.

They're definitely still going to be an elite defensive/inside team. They still need a shooter BAD but I don't think they'll fall off as much as some ppl think. What they lose in Gay's individual ISO's, they gain in Prince knowing his role. I think Conley will be the biggest key of how good this team will be, The ball will be in his hands, especially down the stretch. Can he make enough plays offensively within the half court remains to be seen.

Part of the reason they got fined because they didn't notify the league and the Miami Heat in a "timely manner."
"The result here is dictated by the totality of the facts in this case," Stern said in a statement. "The Spurs decided to make four of their top players unavailable for an early season game that was the team's only regular-season visit to Miami. The team also did this without informing the Heat, the media, or the league office in a timely way. Under these circumstances, I have concluded that the Spurs did a disservice to the league and our fans."

That's what I'm sarcastically getting at. The guy who showed up to see Prince had the rug pulled out from under him.
