So will the Thunder branch off and be considered their very own franchise that started in 2008? Because right now their franchise is considered to have started in 1967. Or will we have two teams that share the same franchise history?
Basically. The Baltimore Ravens are treated historically like an expansion team. The thunder kept the sonics history because there was no team in Seattle to take it. I'm assuming that will change.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Maybe OKC should take the Kings/Royals history.

I wish we had Speights off the bench...
    Tyler Hansbrough career numbers: 9.2 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 0.5 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.2 BPG. 42.6 FG%, 77.7 FT% and 1 turnover per game in 20.2 MPG.

    Marreese Speights career numbers: 7.4 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 0.5 APG, 0.3 SPG, 0.5 BPG. 47.4 FG%, 20 3p% (5-25), 75.5 FT% and 0.8 turnover per game in 16.2 MPG.

Let's do the per 36 head to head.

Tyler Hansbrough: 16.4 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 1 APG, 1 SPG, 0.4 BPG. Also, 1.7 turnovers per game.

Marreese Speights: 16.6 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 1.2 APG, 0.7 SPG, 1.2 BPG. Also, 1.8 turnovers per game.

Tyler and Speights are kinda similar. You can argue that Speights is better but not by much.

Good stuff, I would have guessed Speights numbers were better because he's much smoother offensively. The big thing for Tyler is the FG%, its hard to live with a rotation PF shooting so poorly and you'd like him to rebound the position with more consistency as well as show improvement all around. If you start to reassess your expectations with Tyler as a back up PF who gets to the line and brings energy that causes good chaos then I think you start to appreciate him more. Pre David West you wanted him to grow into the starting PF position and thats just not gonna happen, even after he did it sucessfully for a stint a couple of years ago, it was fools gold, since he wasn't able to add to his game.

Enough of that though, I like Speights, he's a good back up, you have let him play to his strengths and thats scoring and everybody wants to do that. It'll be interesting if ZBO goes down again, Speights kills it in his abscence, but he wont be around this time.

I expect Philly to work on some trades before the trade deadline, they should just say f*** it with the Bynum wait and go after Al Jefferson, at least he can stay healthy.

I won't be surprised to see Doug Collins fired b4 the season is over. He looks 10 years older and woren out from this season.

Dallas should be all over the Lakers and try to get Howard, Howard+ Blake for Marion+ DJ+ Kaman+DC+ picks, Lakers starting unit, Nash, Kobe, Artest, Marion and Gasol, bench unit, DC, DJ, Jamison, Clark and Kaman.

    From 16ft-3pt range (Speights) .456%. Tyler? .389%

I don't think that Cuban is going to help the Lakers win a championship.

That Butler kid in Chicago is pretty good.

    I agree.

The announcers made the comment that the Bulls miss CJ Watson and Korver this year. I'm not sure I totally agree with that statement. Personally, I feel Butler and Belinelli are playing very well for the Bulls. Looks like Belinelli has finally found a home.

I'd say that Jack and Curry can do it.

Speaking of Jack his last 3 games are

    18/6/10
    20/2/10
    25/2/12

And to think Bird would rather have had Watson and Dahntay or injury plagued Foster. LOL!

I hate 36, 48, etc. It's misleading. It's like a commission salesman makes $40,000 the 1st qtr of the year, and so he's projected to make $160,000 for the year when in reality he only made $115,000 for the year. There is nothing that says the extra minutes given either player is going to average out what the 36 says they will. Totally misleading, and I don't care for it.

Speights is more valueable, b/c he can play the 4 & 5. I've always wanted Speights. The only reason Speights ever got traded from Philly is b/c Doug Collins didn't like him. When he started for an injured Z-Bo last year, he played well. He's far better than Leuers, and the Cavs can use him with Varejeo out for the season. He will get plenty of PT at both the C & PF. It's a good trade for Speights.

Random thought - we hold opponents to hibberts fg%.

So I guess if he is shooting as good as the competition he isn't doing that bad. Smh.

His back is a far bigger concern. His run in Orlando was absolutely dominant, despite the lack of playoff success with a bunch of teams that just weren't good enough.

Both are concerns to me. Would you really give up Lopez+ for him right now with the way Brooklyn has been playing?

I always though Vangundy had it right in Orlando, Howard needs to be surrounded by shooters to be successful, Howard is not the type of big that can play with other guys close to him, he is just not a good passer and can't shoot anything 5 feets away from the basket.

I wouldn't do it if I was Brooklyn(I would have never say this before), Howard would have the same issues in Brooklyn, they don't have enough shooters either.

So you are portraying Bird's blunder as a good positive thing. Thus making it look like it wasn't a blunder at all. So Bird's blunder sets up the way the Pacers are now. Nice way to spin it. Obama could use you on his staff.

I guess if one looks at it from your perspective the blunder turns out to be productive. I was such a pro draft Paul George person that's it's hard not to think of PG not being a Pacer. I'll try to not grind my teeth so much in the future when I see how well JJ is producing. I must admit it won't be easy tho as I'm a JJ fan. I'll just have think of it in the terms as a Bird blunder that turned out for the best. As Bird fell into a pile of **** and came out smelling like a rose/PG.

There are other ways of spacing the court besides going all out with 3pt shooters.
