Is it true that in real life NBA, going out of bounds like that doesn't stop a 3 second count? I thought I heard or read that.
He does it every game, so apparently not.

To be fair, he doesn't start in the lane, the go out of bounds. He starts out of bounds then jumps in.

The heat got absolutely destroyed tonight...by will Bynum

    Will Bynum.

Will Bynum, our 3rd string point guard that's been DNP'd for half the year and played tonight due to stuckey being hurt.

Will Bynum took both Mario chalmers and Norris cole behind the woodshed and beat them down to the point that he dominated the entire game.

    Will Bynum.

Decided to tune into the Kings-Knicks game since Kings were ahead by over 20 in the third quarter.

Well, Knicks come back and take the lead with 5 minutes left in the game.

Kings down by two, Knicks miss, Kings run to their basket with about 15-20 seconds left, miss a shot, get the rebound and make a desperation 3 as the buzzer sounds.

Needless to say, seeing the Knicks lose like that was pretty satisfying,

Very close to rookie DeAndre Jordan's per-36 production, right down to the atrocious free throw shooting. If Detroit can find their Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, they're in business.

He may not have the same flair or athleticism, but Greg Monroe is pretty good. Averaging 15 and 9 this year.

And I think that's actually a very important point. Now that I've thought about it more, I think the reason I know or thought I knew this is because I actually saw a Pacer get burned from it before. I think when you start in the paint you can't reset the count by going out of bounds, but if you start from somewhere other than the paint and go out of bounds the count cannot begin until you go into the paint.

Only guaranteed if he plays X number of games, which he would be far short of at this point. If he does retire for medical reasons, they can waive him in early-January and owe him nothing and take no cap hit.

Somewhat related note: Wolves worked out James Anderson sometime in the past week and decided not to sign him.

He asked to be waived. He's obviously a selfish, spoiled professional athlete like Derek Fisher. He probably's going to sign with Oklahoma City, Miami, or the Lakers to have a better chance at a title. Geez.

I don't have any memory of him but what a sad way to die....

Former Marquette player Whitehead dies at 56

Former Marquette player and Waukegan native Jerome Whitehead has died. He was 56.

Whitehead, who also played 11 seasons in the NBA, was found dead by his sister in his home Dec. 20 near El Cajon, Calif., according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Whitehead had apparently been dead for some time, as there were "signs of decomposition," an examiner's office spokesman said.

An autopsy found that Whitehead had died from a gastrointestinal hemorrhage related to chronic alcohol abuse, an investigator at the examiner's office said.

The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 11.1 points and 7.7 rebounds during his three seasons at Marquette. He averaged 14.0 points and 8.3 rebounds during the school's national championship season in 1977, and hit a buzzer-beating, game-winning layup against North Carolina-Charlotte in the national semifinal.

Marquette will observe a moment of silence for Whitehead before the team's Big East opener Tuesday night against Connecticut.

Royce White drama again. It seems that the Rockets got tired of wasting that pick and paying him to sit home. They requested him to join their d-league team. White:

White calls Rockets' statements misleading, inaccurate

    Posted Dec 30, 2012 1:57 PM
An official statement from Royce White:

We say there is such an unknown element to mental health in this country, due to the number of people who are not diagnosed. This element also makes it a tough demographic to support.

    I agree.

However, it saddens and frightens me to know that in this situation all the decision makers involved have been informed of all the medical dynamics, and yet still refuse to adhere to medical sensibility. In hindsight of the recent tragedies in this country, that had mental illness variables, you would think it would encourage people to act more proactively in that arena. You would think that decision makers who are not well informed about mental health, would take the consultation and recommendation of those who are. You would think we would start to do everything possible to not let the tragic consequences befall us first, before we ask the logical question, "why?", "who knew?" "how could we have helped?. Why not take a proactive approach of "who knows?" "how can we listen?", "how can we support now?"

I do wish to play, but I only intend to do so with the collaboration and recommendation of trained professionals. The purpose of a doctor's confirmation is to ensure that health decisions are made in the sole interest of health and not conflicted with business. My only hope is that decision makers involved realize that doctors are the only logical source to decide action.

There is an admitted lack of knowledge on behalf of the Rockets and the NBA, it becomes transparent as they choose to forego the knowledge of trained professionals and make independent decisions for something as complex as mental health without consulting any doctors. The Rockets have told me in recent conversations that it is their right to decline even their own doctors' recommendations. The concept of not listening to medical consultants in medical situations is alarming. It is also alarming that a player is susceptible to fines for simply adhering to the recommendation of doctors.

It is true that accommodating mental health can be very tough and complex, however, sometimes the only reasonable solution to doing what is right is doing what is tough. To portray that the Rockets have been supportive to me is fundamentally incorrect.

The information that the Houston Rockets have publicly presented about this situation has been extremely misleading and a lot of times totally inaccurate.
An image of support has been presented by the Rockets, but the only logical support here would be listening to the recommendation of the medical professionals involved. That has not totally happened here. I have chosen to not play, because the doctors and I believe it to be unsafe for unqualified Rockets front office personnel to make medical decisions, as they are not mental health professionals

Brook Lopez per-36 numbers over the last 3 games:
    32 pt, 12.5 rb, 2.7 bl, 69% TS

Competition wasn't good, but those are crazy numbers. Shaq approves.

I've had the underlying feeling that White has a hidden agenda in all of this from the get-go. Him using this whole situation to push his career as a writer sounds very plausible to me. How long until Headcase White is writing fact-free junk pieces for the Huffington Post, or appearing on the lowly-rated pseudo-news network MSNBC whining about how unfairly he's been treated through all of this? For all I know, it may have already happened.
