I haven't watched this game, but all of the Dallas games I've watched it's been a combination of Kaman, Bernard James, and Elton Brand. He has the height to be a small center, but he is listed at 210 pounds.
He has been the backup center all night today, Kaman got hurt and he is the center, the guy is doing a pretty good job at it too.

It's going to be extremely tough for Minnesota to trade for Gasol without giving up Kirilienko and/or Roy (who the Lakers likely won't want as he might be totally finished).

I think in terms of the current Lakers' system, the Toronto deal is much better. Bargs/Calderon/Kleiza are much more ready to contribute today as well.
yes, but the Lakers have to look at it from assets point of view. a top 10 center entering his prime + former #2 in his 2nd year. They could probably just pick up the phone, call around and ask "hey, do you want Pekovic?" and there will be 10 offers by the end of the day.

re matching salaries -- indeed, Barea maybe. Nice addition for the Lakers, wasted cap space for the Wolves when Rubio comes back.

    Here are some ridiculous numbers:

Out of the ten Pacers who have appeared in five or more games, only three of them are shooting better than .410 from the field - David West at .491, Lance Stephenson at .469, and Ian Mahinmi at .443.

For comparison's sake, the second worst team is Cleveland with five players over the .410 mark.

Unsurprisingly, our team FG% is 29th in the league at .413 (within .005 of Washington at 30th, and Cleveland and Charlotte at 28th and 27th respectively). Thankfully, our opponents' team FG% sits at .408 - the lowest in the league by .016!

The opposing team's high scorer has been a guard fourteen times (74%) and a forward or center only five times (26%). When two players shared the team-high mark, I gave it to the more efficient of the two. I don't know if that stat means anything, but I was interested in seeing, so I saw.

Great stuff! Interesting, makes you think if they can get the offense to improve to slightly below average from awful, they'll be a force. Makes me feel good with my beliefs in Defense and how it doesn't have an 'off' night, like shooting can. What makes me like this team so much is exactly what made me dislike the Murphleavy Obrien teams. Crazy how quickly the personality of a team can change. Now, if only they can find a high teen scorer at the win position to make it all work. I joke, but Danny is exactly the thing they need. I have hope again for the season!

We lead the league in opponent FG% (.408) and are tied for 2nd in opponent 3P% (.321), but we rank near the bottom - 28th - in opponent FT% (.795). Vogel needs to do something about our free throw defense, and if he can't get the job done, it's time for Shaw to take over.

Yes, the stat means we protect the paint well.

The Knicks also lucked out because his year in Portland probably turned off other potential suitors.

It just makes me sick that the Pacers can't make these type of deals. Walsh brought Felton to the Knicks the 1st time, so he had to know Felton's game.

    15/2.5/7... 42.5% FG... 39% 3PT... 68% FT... 2.5-1 A/TO rate for 14.85 mil for 4 years.

    Lowry
    18/5.5/6... 42% FG... 38% 3PT... 82% FT... 2.5-1 A/TO for 5.7 mil this year and 6.2 mil next year.

    Sickening absolutely sickening.

New York is the real deal, even without Melo they destroyed Miami, yep they didn't need time to adjust without their best player, that is what good teams are supposed to do.

    They don't have Amare either.

Wright's had a great year, and Carlisle's playing him just little enough that he'll be a sneaky good FA signing for someone on the cheap. Hope we make a run at him.

Wright caught my eye last year. I have't kept up with the game results this year like last year due to computer problems, so I don't know how well he's been playing this year. Sounds like he doing well though.

Darren Wolfson: #Twolves source: Rubio angling to play tomorrow. Still a better chance because his conditioning isn't 100% that we're a week away from that. Twitter @DarrenWolfson

Nice, I'm glad he is ready to come back.

Would Amare hit 4 3s like Novak? Would he play solid D like Thomas or Chandler?

Amar'e still has negative value for the Knicks.

If Amare was a Pacers you would be hanging on his grapes stop it, a healthy Amare is better than anything the Pacers have.

Will he ever be healthy again, though? I certainly hope so

By the way, even if he returns to full health he will still be a bad fit in NYK. They play defense now. I don't see how Amar'e can help with that.

The bad fit was blown out by the media, he fits fine, now that Felton is back they should be able to do similar damage to what they did before the Melo trade, those two looked amazing together, Amare was scoring over 25ppg(I think) and Felton was on his way to his first all star game.

The hilarious part is that Walsh cleared this cap space to get LeBron and if not then Bosh. In order to not look ridiculous by coming up empty handed, he signs often injured Amare to a poor contract. One that is still untradeable 2 years later. I really wonder how much pressure he was getting from Dolan to do something with all that capspace.

Amare and Carmello are the epitome of having guys that fit, not an allstar team. Trade Amare to LA for Gasol. Amare with Nash works, proven to be so. Gasol can hide his deficencies with Tyson Chandler patrolling the paint. I'd hate both teams even more.

He fits fine with Felton. That part is true. But he is a horrible fit with Melo. That won't change.

I would love to have Dwill.

If agent Rob Pelinka had a personal Twitter account, he might echo his client’s claims from last February.

It was then that Minnesota Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams tweeted, “Anybody ever felt like a caged lion?”

According to a team source, Pelinka has voiced his displeasure with Williams’ lack of playing time. He hasn’t gone as far as to request a trade, but he has inquired about the possibility that one will come.

The Wolves’ stance from the source: “We told him to wait for our team to come together. Wait for Derrick to play with Ricky (Rubio). When they played together last year, Williams benefited greatly.”

Amare in 2008 maybe, but Amare with knee issues wouldn't work as well.

But hey, maybe he can stick around the perimeter and shoot outside J's while D12 pounds the inside.

Meanwhile I think that would make the Knicks very good, BUUUT they're doing very well with Melo playing the 4.
