You can win a championship with Harden as your best guy. You need a big scorer as well but Harden can be option 1.

Omg no. Rush just dislocated his knee and probablly blew it out. I feel sick right now. Just sad I hope it isn't as bad as it looked but by the look on his face it's not good. He is one of my favorites would hate 2 see a career ending type injury.

Man I'm still shook up just not fair. Rush was nearly in tears Randolph damn near looks like he saw a ghost. Wasn't a dirty play by him at all but a hard foul by a big boy can be dangerous. They said Randolph went back to check on Rush classy move.

The Harden trade is the classic case of team who gets the best player wins the trade. Especialy true with superstars. I think this will end up being a huge deal in OKC especially if they don't win a title or make it to the finals in the next two years. I think you will see Durant or Westbrook leave and I think you'll be able to trace it back to this. That was kind of a point I tried to make in the original thread. This could have a really far reaching impact in the OKC franchise not just what happens on the court.

Personally, I think OKC will be just fine without Harden. Not quite as good, but any team with Durant/Westbrook has a chance at a title. That is still a very good team and by all accounts the players knew that this endgame was coming for Harden and had accepted it.

I actually think that not having Harden and keeping Perkins is going to hunt OKC for a long time, I don't think they win a championship anytime soon.

The Lakers are just bad right now. Dwight can cover up a lot of defensive mistakes, but he can't make up for people just blowing by the corpse that is the PG at the moment.

They have a PG that's not allowed to play to his strength. As much as Dwight has improved offensively, they still shouldn't force feeding him so much. Pau is much better to play through. He's by far more skilled, and he's a great passer. Their bench is horrible, and to top it all off they have a nutcase as their starting SF.

They'll flame out in the playoffs, they have a lot of major flaws.

The Paul Gasol rumors are going to start soon, Magic was talking about trading him for Josh Smith or somebody like that.

Gasol isn't going anywhere. Mike Brown isn't going anywhere. The Lakers will bounce back and this dismal start will be forgotten soon enough.

They still have Durant signed through 2016 and Westbrook 2017, so even if they leave after that, they still have basically 4 and 5 seasons with the Thunder...

I think this Knicks team is going to be tough all year. I mean, if they don't make noise this year in the playoffs then it's never going to happen. As vnz said, Felton plays really well in New York. Plus having Jason Kidd on your team is never a bad thing, even if he's almost 40 years old. He is one of the greatest PGs ever, has been to the Finals three times, and has a championship ring that he won just two years ago. A player like that is just a great presence to have on your team.

This is probably the most important season of Melo's career. He really needs to will that team to a high playoff seed so that they avoid having to play a Miami or Boston in the first round.

I didn't get a chance to watch the Lakers game, but I'm not going to go doomsday on them yet. They will figure it out. How did Dwight Howard just get 7 shots though?

I don't think you can really judge a team until about the 10 game mark. Boston is win-less as well.

Omer Aski had 19 boards, 9 offensive. and 0 points. I don't know what that means.

@JohnDenton555: #Magic SF Hedo Turkoglu underwent surgery Saturday morning to repair a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand. No return date set yet.

It's key for the Knicks to get off to a good start, because that may allow them to bring Amare off the bench when he comes back. Melo's a matchup nightmare at the 4, and defensively he may be better there because his bulk won't hurt as much in the post as it does on the perimeter.

@NBARUMORS: According to sources, Lakers have identified Mike D'Antoni as a possible replacement for current head coach Mike Brown.

Not going to lie I would love to see Mike there.

I saw that too, and I agree. Although, I don't know how reliable that NBARUMORS account is.

    @nbarumors, sources, sounds legit.

    Step 2: Rudy Tomjanovich rumors
    Step 3: Phil Jackson
    Step 4 : Jerry Sloan

It will be a fun season.
