Yes, DJ has shown he could be the starting pg on the worst team in history and Green has shown that he can play his way out of the league
Ohh I see you're serious. DJ was also a key cog on a Bobcat playoff team, and has at least started for few years. Green averaged nearly 13 ppg last season, on one of the worst teams in the league. Both have shown in the preseason that they can play, whereas aside from summer league and that game against the Bulls last season, Born Ready hasn't shown an ability to contribute much.

I HOPE Lance can become the player that he has the talent to become. But he hasn't shown it consistently enough to say that he's better than Green or DJ, both of which are simply rotational NBA players right now.

It was not DJ's fault the team was that bad. You can lay that at the feet of Jordan. Green also played his way right back into the league. According to many here, both have been impressive in the Pacers' pre-season. As much as I would like for the Pacers to find another solid contributor in the person of Lance, I have yet to see it. If things stay as they are, I would expect both DJ and Green to get more playing time than Lance.

Exactly what do you see he has done to win your favor over the other guys?

I've always really liked Lance and absolutely want him to succeed, but is there a less fitting nickname in the NBA than "Born Ready"? I can't think of a Pacer who came in less ready for the NBA than Lance. It's almost like how they give someone an ironic nickname that's the opposite of reality, like when they call a really huge guy "Tiny."
It makes sense that Lance gave himself that nickname. Sort of like Jeffries' tattoo that labels him "King of the Court".

Pretty sure some local announcer gave Lance that nickname.

As for Jeffries...he really has a tattoo that say "King of the Court"?? What the kids court? preschool court? lmao
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

Yep. I think he got it late in his time at IU.

How does tearing down DJ and Green build up Lance? Every criticism DJ and Green you have could make the exact same one about Lance and he has the shakiest NBA resume of the three by far.

And you're acting as if you don't have an answer to my question: "Exactly what do you see he has done to win your favor over the other guys?"

So, are you going to waste bandwidth just cutting other guys down, or are you going to tell us what you have seen him do that impresses you?

That's not the NBA, with NBA caliber players or coaching.

That's like saying because I scored 30 PPG in high school, that I would be an elite division 1 college player. It just doesn't work like that.

Seriously, in all reality, this year is not Lance Stephenson's last chance. Case and point, a player recently signed, Gerald Green. Lance has talent and will find his way in this league. I'm not sure it's make or break this year, for the Pacers. But , regardless, its definitely not make or break for his NBA career.

I've seen Augustin and Green excel in the actual NBA! Amazing!

    Just my two cents :

Lance got the nickname "born ready" in highschool, because he was that dominant. As the article mentioned Lance was "built like an ox" and he was much stronger than the majority of players he faced in both high school, and college. Problem is , in the NBA , you are playing against the best of the best everynight. Lance couldnt just come in here and dominate these vet NBA players. Now he is trying to learn how to apply his talent and skill, to the NBA game, and its a work in progress.

I am big Lance fan (BK stand up) but he is NOT better than DJ or Gerald at this point. In fact, some might say Im reaching but I wouldnt be suprised to see Gerald Green being a better player this year for us than Paul George. What I have read and seen both this year and last year leads me to think that Green might be better than George this year. PG might eventually surpass Green , but I wouldnt be suprised if Green had the better year for us

Either way, its a win win, and even the fact Im comparing Green with George makes me think Green might be one of those Kevin Pritchards brillant under the radar moves
Sittin on top of the world!

I would love to see Lance succeed, but he's really not shown me he should be on the floor. I do see good court vision and a strong guy...but I don't see much else.

The reality is, he may be like Tyler. Dominant due to his physical strength but lacking the type of skills to excel in the NBA. Some of that is quickness, length and the ability to shoot the ball from some distance.

I do think this is the last year Lance is considered a young player. If he does not make the transition and start producing, we may see that roster spot open up. Quite frankly, I'm surprised he hasn't done better.

I agree with you on this. It seems like the team is trying to sell him as a low risk, high reward player taken in the 2cd. round. I'm not seeing the high reward part yet and I think I would have by now.
