Grant Hill should be number 1 on that list I think, that guy was amazing.

Amare should be on that list together with Agent 0 and Baron Davis.

Bill Walton, could have been a top 3 center of all time.
Good is the enemy of Great

We're changing the identity of our basketball team -- dramatically. We're a power post team -- a blood-and-guts, old-school, smash-mouth team that plays with size, strength, speed and athleticism. We attack the basket. . . . This is the new identity of our team. It was a great effort. I'm very proud of our guys."

That's a good list. So sad. Injuries suck.

Some of these are a little silly IMO. Not everyone can be an iron man. For example, T-Mac played 10 years in the NBA of pretty high level basketball before he started to break down. A decade is a long time. At one point do we say his career wasn't derailed by injuries, he just got old? Especially when you compare that to Penny, who basically only had 3 good years before his body gave out on him.

I think they did their "starting 5" in order from Center-PF-SF-SG-PG. Not sure they are necessarily ranked that way overall.

I also feel like it suffered from short term memory. There were a few older players, but all but a couple were from the 90's on. I can't say I know any from before then due to may age, but I am sure there had to be someone from prior to 1990 who had a more promising career ahead of him than Jay Williams.

Yeah, I'm not sure how but a list if this type doesnt make much sense if both Greg Oden and Brad Daugherty are on it. One never got his career off the ground and the other had his number retired by the Cavs.

    *Looks for Maurice Stokes.

    *Looks for Andrew Tony.

*Dismisses yet another laughable Bleacher Report list.

I can only assume the author was born in the late 90's. Listing Bill Walton as a power forward is also comedy gold.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

I think his point is that Tmac had top 20 all time potential if it was not for all his injury issues, sure he was able to kick a** for a while but at the same time I don't think we got to see the real Tmac because of injuries, same with Grant Hill.

Hardaway was the first name that came to mind for me, and I was getting irritated that I wasn't finding him on the list until I reached the end. He was one of my favorite players to watch. I can't think of many instances of medical problems derailing a sports career that were as disheartening to me as his. His talent and natural gifts were immense.

I could go on and on, but there were a few players who I remember watching growing up, that had their career cut short due to injury or other circumstances, whom I believe could have REALLY been something great had their career been allowed to blossom from the awesome potential they had ..

But a few that come to mind that not many mention ..

Drazen Petrovic (one of the best shooters I have ever seen)
Reggie Lewis (was so sad when he died , as I was a big Celtics fan)
    Jay Williams

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

He would make the all-time "throw the ball to someone in the third row of seats" team. What a moron.

Len Bias should probably be on the list, as well as Reggie Lewis and Drazen Petrovic, assuming you classify death as an injury (I do).

So glad Walton is starting. He could be top 5 all time if injuries didn't wreck him.

Even Jordan gave Penny props after the magic eliminated them from the playoffs in 95. He and Grant would've ran the league had it not been for injuries.

Also how has NOBODY mentioned Larry Johnson?? Dude was a force.

Bill Walton was the greatest center my dad claims he ever saw. Led a less than stellar Blazer team to the championship.

Idk if he would've been an all time great but KMart was a force before his knee injury

A lot of good names on that list, but personally the ones that jump out to me in the "I remember them and they particularly interest me" are Shaun Livingston, Greg Oden, Brandon Roy, Jay Williams, and Yao Ming.
