I don't know, CC has been mighty tough lately, and some of the Baltimore bats are struggling (Adam Jones!)

Of course some of the Yankee bats are struggling too

Seriously, can the Orioles hold Jeter to just one hit tonight maybe?

I'm sure CC will be fine. The Yankees have gotten excellent performances from all four of their starting pitchers this series. They just can't produce any runs.

    Damn!

Obviously I would have liked to see the Orioles pull out the victory, but I don't have a problem saying the better team won. Congrats Yankees.

Horrendous loss for the Nationals, although I admit my interest waned mightily when they elected to sit SS.

The Cardinals are going to win it all again. That team can't be beaten. I don't care what happens to them they just win.

Look I know its Cliche but the reason why the Cards have done what they have done is that when they are down, they don't put their head down or point fingers.

When the Reds were down big in game 5. Even though they made a run, after they went down honestly tell me they weren't sagging. When the cards went down 9-7 in the top of the 10th against the rangers last year, they didn't lose faith, they kept their head up and did their job. Last night the Nationals looked beat the second Kozma got that hit.

Derek Jeter out for the postseason. What a turn of events in just a few innings for the Yankees.

The loss of Jeter is just brutal. He has been such a huge bat all season/postseason. Feels like the heart of the team was taken away.

Yankees down 3-0 to the Tigers in the top of the 8th. They've had anemic bats all postseason and have wasted some really good pitching performances.

Yankees down 2-0 to the Tigers! I hate the ****ing Yankees. Game 1 of the Giants Cards series tonight. Go San Fran! Pulling for Detroit to win it all this year.

The Cards just chased Bumgarner in the top of the 4th. Just drilling the ball from all spots in the order.

I will never understand Cards fans complete and utter devotion to Matt Holliday. He has never come up big for us in the postseason. Has even choked bad in fielding errors. And his regular season stats are fading. Yet boy George don't you dare assert they should bench him.

The Yankees have horribly mishandled this A-Rod situation. There's no reason at all that he should be benched for these games in Detroit for Eric Chavez, who himself is 0-14 in the playoffs this year. Chavez also made an error the other night. A-Rod is a better fielder, and there is still the possibility that he can get a big hit IMO. He got a single in the 9th inning of game 2, and he also hit a ball hard earlier in the game which unfortunately went straight to the left fielder. Even though it was caught, it was still promising because he made solid contact after striking out a bunch these playoffs.

A-Rod is being made the scapegoat for a team that has struggled to hit this postseason. Cano is 3-36 and was on an 0-29 streak. He hasn't been benched. Swisher is 4-26 and was benched for game 3, but he's in the lineup for game 4. Granderson is 3-29 and is not in the lineup for game 4, but he played in game 3. A-Rod should have at least been able to play in one of the games at Detroit if those guys had the opportunity. The only people hitting for the Yankees this postseason are Jeter (who is unfortunately out), Texiera, and Ichiro. The Yankees have faced some very good pitching with Baltimore and Detroit, and the whole team is struggling. I just don't get singling one guy out.

A-Rod may be a shell of his former self, but I'd still take my chances with him over Eric Chavez. Awful decision.

Tigers just own the Yankees in the playoffs.

CC just got lit up badly in the fourth inning. His day is already over. Baring a miracle of epic proportions, this series is over too. Congrats, Kstat. The Tigers own the Yankees.

I will always say that benching A-Rod in Detroit was a horrible decision.

Anyone who watches baseball could see the Yankees weren't going to win the pennant. You don't win in October by trying to outscore everyone. Pitching prevails in the cold autumn air and you actually have to hit the ball more than 310 feet in most parks to run around the bases.
