The Yankees must really, really hate us....

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Anyone who watches baseball could see the Yankees weren't going to win the pennant. You don't win in October by trying to outscore everyone. Pitching prevails in the cold autumn air and you actually have to hit the ball more than 310 feet in most parks to run around the bases.

Aside from Sabathia's performance today, the Yankee starting pitching has been excellent this postseason. The offense has been beyond anemic. Most of the bats they have right now were on the 2009 title team and it worked out fine then: A-Rod, Jeter (hurt), Swisher, Cano, Texieria...

Is this three World Series appearances for Leyland? Two in Detroit and one in Florida? He's a great manager. He also had Pittsburgh on the cusp of a World Series. They went to three straight NLCS and lost in heartbreaking fashion.

I love this. After my asshat Cardinals fan friend gloated with glee the Reds blowing a two games series lead, the Cardinals turn right around and do the same. Priceless. If they come back from this I will get a sex change.

What about the job Bruce Bochy has done in SF? Two world series appearances in three years. This year he had to deal with the Cabrera suspension (he was leading the NL in BA) and the fact that Lincecum isn't what he used to be. This Giants team continuously has had their backs against the wall, but they have always found a way to win. It's a cliche', but it's the truth here.

San Francisco's crowd is awesome. They have great baseball atmosphere there. I was fortunate enough to see a Giants-Cubs game out there in 2008 and it without question one of the best sports venues I've ever been to. It has to be a very comfortable for the players because the weather doesn't get hot.

This world series between the Tigers and Giants is a matchup of two managers who always seem to get the most out of their team.

So because his friend made fun of his team for losing, he's not allowed to do the same?

I put up with a bunch of cocky Cardinals fans after they won it last year and I don't live anywhere near St. Louis. I don't even care if the Giants go on to beat the Tigers. I would have puked if that team won it again when they needed a rule change just to make the playoffs.

That was a huge game for the Giants to win. Tigers have to win Game 2
