So I was getting my feet wet looking at the schedule again and thinking about the calender and when I'd be going to games and I realized how many road games the team starts with. Probably many of you discussed this earlier in the year but since there are people like me just now getting up to speed again I figured it was worth discussing.
I went looking for the "make up" for all those road games and boy did I find them.
Starting Jan 30th when they host Detroit the Pacers have 10 home games vs 2 road games, and the 2 road games are Detroit and Philly. Both road games are 2nd nights after a home game, but both have a travel day free on the backside. Detroit is a puddle jump flight and while Philly isn't CHI/DET/CLE close, it's not that bad. It seems 100% certain that they will return to Indy that same night in both cases.
The team virtually is in their own beds for the entire month of FEB.
I can't recall a month so lopsided in scheduling in their history. So I guess much like they earned a nice late home run last year with a lot of dirty road work to start the season they'll do the same and then get a great FEB bump if they can hold on till then. They go into and come out of the AS break with momentum (hopefully).
