Default Why does the thanksgiving day game always suck?

I'm not talking colts here...why do they put a team like the bears on EVERY YEAR!? or the lions for that matter? Least it isn't lions vs bears! LOL
I'd love to eat and watch some good football, but uh...THAT ISN'T GOOD FOOTBALL...It's called lopsided...and the colts will destroy the lions.
why can't they put exciting matchups? like Bucs Vs Falcons...or Eagles Vs Minny?
offensive shootouts..not teams that can barely hit the 10 pt mark in a game (colts excluded)...
I just think the NFL needs to step it up with the games they play on thanksgiving...

Well I don't really care as long as the Colts can get a win today.I think the Lions have improved but there has been talk of benching J.Harrington.I hope the Colts destroy the Lions I also want a win for the Pacers , hopefully the Wolves will underestimate us

Detroit and Dallas on Thanksgiving, it just works that way.

I'm happy the Colts have the opportunity to play today.

Yeah, like others have said - its tradition.

JOneal7 - I know you used to live in FL, but Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta wouldn't be a good game either. I get stuck watching the Bucs just about every week now, and I'm ready for some real football.

I'm just glad the Colts got to play today. Every since I moved from Indiana, I haven't been able to see as many of their games

Now I could be wrong, but it's my understanding the reason it's always Dallas and Detroit is because nobody else wanted to do it. This was back in the days when TV wasn't such a big deal, and they were the ones that volunteered.

I believe that at least once they played each other on Thanksgiving, and two other teams went at it in the other.
