And some of Griffin's weren't ?? But he'll be able to make it thru the season and Luck won't ??

That is true but people here stretch stats over full games and even full seasons.
They shouldn't. Sample sizes aren't large enough for things like that to be predictive. And even if they were, stretching "one" to "two" certainly isn't predictive, especially not when you take into account the player's history.

The fact is that RGIII has taken 31 QB hits and Luck 26. That is not a huge difference and some of Luck's hits were very severe
No, it's not a huge difference. But if you extrapolate it over a full season...

Just kidding. As far as severity, I remember the penalized hit against the Packers, and maybe one against the Bears. Other than that, I'm really not sure what you're talking about. I don't watch RGIII often, and certainly not for a whole game, but I do know that in terms of body type, Luck's is far more conducive to holding up under assault than Griffin's. This is from a guy who's been very pessimistic about the Colts' O-line, and that's before guys started getting hurt - I just don't think that over the long term, Luck is the more likely of the two to get hurt. He's big and strong, and very evasive (so far, at least). He may get hurt, but that's always a possibility with any player. I just don't think Luck is in more danger than Griffin. And I haven't heard anything yet to convince me otherwise.
"And Tottenham do not know what hit them...well I can tell you, it's Theo Walcott!"

"And it's Tony Adams put through by Steve Bould, WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT?! That...sums it all up."

I am not sure that RGIII will make it through the season either but I think he has a change to make changes in how he plays to minimize that risk. I do think his experience allows him to run the ball with less risk than Luck who isn't used to doing that. But sacks and hits in the backfield can take a toll on both of them. There is nothing Luck can do differently because he will always have to chuck the ball 50+ times per game while trying to elude pass rushers. Luck will probably do less designed running plays too but I still think he is at the greatest risk because he is just exposed more.... The Jets worry me. This is an angry football team and they have been known not to be to careful about who they tackle and how..... ...

Luck has taken one really hard hit. That's pretty much it.
I have seen more than that but the one you are talking about was one that some QBs don't jump back immediately after it happens...... Thank goodness it wasn't to to the head as the penalty indicated...... ...

WHAT? Let me tell you something, the experienced running QB gets out of bounds on the hit Sunday that RGIII took. He tried to cut back and slide for an extra couple yards.

The NFL reviewed the hit and it was illegal and he was fined for it. Leading with the crown of the helmet was why it was illegal.

Yes this is what cracks me up. That hit was incredibly dangerous because he actually hit luck in the chin with the crown of his helmet. You can tell by the way Luck's chin strap gets pushed up his face.

Experience is only protective if you put it to good use.

I agree it was a very dangerous hit. But that's the name of the game.

I'm not quite as much of a fan of protecting the QB's as the league is. I thought the hit was pretty clean, and had it happened to a RB or a WR (obviously wouldn't happen in the same, stationary position) I dont feel it would have been flagged.

How is a defender who is running at full speed and wanting to cream a QB supposed to stop and think "okay, let me make sure I only hit him above the belt but below the neck because anything else will most likely be flagged" lol completely unfair.

You hit a guy like they teach in pop warner. Lower your shoulder hit him in the stomach and wrap him up. I never had a coach teach me to lead with helmet for what its worth Lol.

I was taught to look at what your tackling and not to spear people with your head down. Looking down is how you hurt your neck.

his receivers didn't help him much, but he did miss some throws that could have been huge

RGIII, a rookie, followed up his concussion with a great game. He will have many more. Luck will have many more of the Jets type games but that is the difference between the two. The most NFL ready QB every has proven to be mediocre at best and RGIII is a superstar already.... You should have heard the fans here at a restaurant in Washington talking about him today. They are predicting a pro bowl (if they still have it) appearance by him this year. I don't think anyone is talking about Luck in those terms. I didn't like the pick before they made, less after they made it and I have hated it ever since I have watched him struggle.....

    Pro bowl for RGIII?

Rodgers, Eli, Ryan, Brees all think that is silly.

No one is talking about pro bowl for Luck right now, true, but that is probably just because we are not crazy.

The Pro Bowl no longer exists.

Kind of like all those "fans in a restaurant in Washington" talking about it.

There is one scheduled for 13. Have they officially called it off?

But you're no normal fan, you are enlightened, and we're all blind fools. Enlightened fans don't overstate their own players, they overstate other teams' players, like Washington's quarterback.

I have not overstated that QB. If anything, I have understated it. While Luck has been about a 50% passer running for his life, RGIII can take the team on his back and carry it to a win. He makes everyone around him better. I'm not sure that is true of Luck unless you think he is making Reggie Wayne better. Outside of Indianapolis, I don't think you will find many fans who do not believe that RGIII is a superstar right now...... There are a whole lot outside of Indianapolis who are less than impressed by Luck and that includes me...... The Redskins gave up some draftpicks to land RGIII. The Colts gave up Peyton Manning.... I don't think this will work out well for the Colts or Luck. That is what he has to overcome. RGIII has to play better than Rex Grossman to justify getting him..... I think he has done that quite well....

Funny thing in all of this is OlBlu is suppose to be a Manning fan but doesn't seem to grasp the idea Peyton would deplore a fan like Blu for what he is saying about a fellow NFL player and banking on his injury.
