    Notre Dame Vs. Alabama
    Mayor In for RIBBING
    With BCS Champion Wager

    EXCLUSIVE

Notre Dame and the University of Alabama are taking their beef to a new level -- TMZ has learned, the mayors of both college towns have made a friendly wager in honor of the BCS National Championship ... and a whole lot of BBQ goodness is at stake.

If the Fighting Irish win -- Tuscaloosa mayor Walt Maddox will send a heaping portion of coma-inducing grub from Dreamland Bar-B-Que to a rep for South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg.

Maddox has also agreed to donate money to South Bend Big Brothers Big Sisters.

But if 'Bama wins -- Buttigieg has agreed to send gourmet chocolates from the South Bend Chocolate Company ... and will donate to the Tuscaloosa Tornado Recovery Fund.

We're not suggesting either team would throw the BCS Championship on January 7 -- but BBQ and chocolate are awesome.

    Just sayin'..

I like bets like these, but I wish both schools would make those donations regardless of the outcome. Maybe they do.

Something tells me ND is getting the better end of this deal, nothing against SB Chocolate Co, but it's pretty average chocolate IMO. Of course now all ND has to do is actually win.

I love Notre Dame, but making the "undefeated" documentary before the national championship game is dumb imo. Stupid NBC.

    It kind of irks me.

I keep getting offers to purchase "un-deafered dvds" and stuff. I am ok w the ahirt, but to me undefratrd includes the NC. Same way the Pats didnt go undefeated when they lost the SB, ND is not undefrated if thry loae the NC.

    All IMO of course

Alabama is winning everything, in all phases. ND got hosed on that fumbled fair catch punt that was so obviously caused by the other Alabama player.

It's already bad but if Alabama walks in on ND's defense again to go up 28-0 there's no coming back from that.

There's no coming back from 21-0, either. They are getting dominated.

What i mean is that At 21-0 one score to make it 21-7 keeps you within striking distance. At 28-0 If you score to make it 28-7 and are still down three more scores, that's hopeless.

I didn't say it looked good. Just pointing out that you CAN'T let them go up 28-0 if you want to have ANY hope of staying in the game.

So now we can call it? Most embarrassing effort I have seen in a long time. Pathetic play by defense, offense, special teams, coaching, you name it. Name one player who has had a good game for Notre Dame.

ND's d-line's actually played pretty damn well. the rest of the defense is absolutely crap though.

There are several good reasons why no one pays me to coach college football, but on the most basic level I would have approached this one differently if I were Notre Dame.

Really??? Bama's offensive line is dominating the line of scrimmage.

it's a 3 man front, ND's back 8 doing absolutely nothing will lead to a dominated line of scrimmage

...or Alabama's offensive line pushing them around and creating huge holes for their running backs will do it too.

In no area of the game is Notre Dame playing well. None. Eifert is the only player who I could say has played well. Golson honestly hasn't been horrible, but he's going to get picked once or twice in the second half because they are going to have to throw the ball 30 times.

Complete domination. Too bad for ND. Great year. Would have liked to seen them play a competitive game regardless of outcome to conclude it.
