Some thoughts leading up to this game:

    - Fleener hasn't gotten much talk this week, but surprise surprise --- new guy had 6 catches for 82 yards quietly. It was a surprisingly good first showing, especially against a good Bears' secondary.
    - What happened to Dwayne Allen? Did they put him in blocking situations exclusively? Zero catches.
    - Vinatieri... If I were Luck, I'd have to believe I have some sort of kicker curse. In Luck's last 2 meaningful games (the Colts' season opener, and the Stanford-OklaSt Fiesta Bowl), he's been absolutely killed by his kickers after repeated successful 2-min drives into enemy territory for very manageable FGs and his kickers just absolutely lay an egg. I like Mr. Clutch, but if the 39 year old makes a habit of this, I think it's time we explore a serious kicker solution this off-season. Those FGs can turn the tide of a close game, and that FG miss was a big momentum killer.
    - I wonder why Brazill is getting most reps at returner and nothing for Hilton? Seems like was the case all pre-season. I could be wrong on that, but after watching Hilton's college antics, you'd think he'd be by far the most dangerous returner on this team. If Hilton dresses for this game, I hope we see him back there fielding kicks.
    - Sounds like O-line was a focal point this week in practice, which you'd expect.
    - Sounds like Freeney and Collie are, indeed, both out of this game. Collie was expected to play earlier in the week and suffered a setback, evidently. That is killing us... this offense does a lot better when he's in.
    - We need Angerer back, too...
    - Colts didn't do half bad stopping the run against the Bears, and Forte/Bush are no joke. Cutler/Marshall lit us up, though, and then go and lay an egg in Green Bay. Speaking of which, Green Bay's defense really showed up last night, think that was more of an indicator of the game than Chicago's failures, although CHI didn't execute like they did against us. But striking to me was the defensive execution of GB...
    - Looks like Winston Justice is back in, after a quick recovery, so Essex will likely fill in for Seth Olsen on the O-line, which is a GOOD thing...

I'm hopeful for this week. I still think we're missing a few key guys... Freeney, Angerer, Collie... but being at home and against some weaker competition, this should be a competitive game, one that could go either way. Hopefully with Indy winning. After watching Indy mosty hold Forte/Bush in check in Week 1, one would think they could maybe do the same to a not-100% Adrian Peterson, but we all know how that goes. Cutler and Marshall were sposed to cut up a suspect GB secondary, and the exact opposite occurred.

Things I'll be looking for is the continued growth of Luck and Fleener, some catches for Dwayne Allen, some semblance of improvement from the O-line and our cornerbacks, esepcially Vontae, and the rest of the units to perform as they did in Week 1. If that happens we could be seeing our first win this season.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

I expect the Colts to play a lot better but the Vikings will squeak out a win

    Vikings 24-21

Our first win will be against Jacksonville which is ironic since we needed to lose to Jacksonville last year to get Andrew Luck to begin with.

If Hilton plays, we need him at WR fulltime, no sense of putting him at KR/PR unless he's close to 100%...

I just hope that Jared Allen doesn't kill Luck tomorrow. What is the over/under for how many times he sacks him?

Tomorrow will be a great gauge for how good our team is. If we are a decent team, then we should compete in this game and have a chance at winning it. But as Hyp said, if we get beat badly tomorrow then this team probably isn't that good and will be winning in the neighborhood of 4 or so games. I think we will know quite a bit about our team after tomorrow.

Minnesota should basically never pass... They're consistently getting 5 yards per carry.

Honestly with all the changes this team has made...we still have the same issues. Stopping the run, defense in general, etc. The more things change the more they stay the same.

I didn't catch the touchdown drive, but Luck is still overthrowing receivers, throwing behind them, etc. I suspect by week 7 or 8 he should have adjusted to the speed of the NFL game and settle down a bit.

On that screen pass to Ballard he threw it over his head. Overthrow. That catch that Avery made over the middle was thrown behind him.

The one Avery caught the defender was leading him. Behind him was where the throw needed to be.

I'm just making observations. He seems like he's still adjusting to the speed of the NFL game, which is perfectly natural seeing as how this is his second real game. He will get more comfortable and gimme passes like that he won't miss on.

I think Luck is throwing SLIGHTLY behind the receivers. But we are spoiled, we had the best QB of all time. At least Luck is managing the game better than last week. And he is not throwing picks yet.

Donnie Avery's having a helluva game. O-line's played markedly better than last week (still not playing good though). They can't run block for crap. But it'll take time, Rome wasn't built in a day.
